Which do you prefer?

Does anyone know how to make a poll? I'd love to see the results as a poll.

:)

I am a big fan of the write in receiptsI started with the itemized and even the new ones were a pain. I would inevitably miss something that someone had checked and have to go back and recalculate their total. Plus, it is hard for the customers to use.

The write in ones are much easier. People seem to like them better. And, if I have a few extra come fall, I can just tear the wish list off the back and use them anyway.

Love,
Rachel

I started with the itemized, but after my first show it was a huge mess... I had to help all my guest find items on the order form so I I AM A HUGE FAN OF write it... MUCH easier to deal with !!!!!

The one with the shopping list attached in the back, is that the write-in.
That style looks so much easier to use as just like an 8.5 x 11 or so :)

Susan - YOU have to go to "Thread Tools" - you will get a drop down menu that has a selection for Add a Poll to this Tread (or something like that?). Then you can add in your question and the poll answers.

I was wondering which people preferred as well. My Director prefers the write-in and another director that I recently met likes them but has run into problems where ppl would have different item numbers and descriptions or different prices. Has anyone else had this problem?? I thing the itemized seem really complicated and then if I decide to do write ins what do I do with the huge stack of itemized reciepts that come in the quick start box?

The new itemized (s/s06 & f/w06 ) are ALOT easier to use because all they have to do is look for the page# on top of the order form. After the guest & I are finished, right there I give them their reciept & tell them to put it under their silverware tray. ;) ;) ;)

I started with the itemized b/c they came in my kit, but I purchased the write-ins for Fall. My customers could not find things on the itemized and I also missed some things when adding up that lost me some sales b/c the customer just said "don't worry about it, i'll get it later" when I called to exlain and see if they wanted me to pick-up a new check.

I also like the wish list on the write-ins. I am going to start with my Sept shows getting guest to write the names and phone numbers of 3 or more people they would like me to contact to purchase their wish list items as Christmas gifts. (A friend gave me this idea, I have already done it for some customers.)

I just use the outside order form for my shows. then for their receipts i print them off of PP on sales receipts.Monica

I too had this problem! I had a host call and yell at me because the guest got the wrong item. She'd put the small whisk #, just wrote whisk on the description and used the large whisk price. I use my laptop at shows and just entered in her item numbers and she got the small whisk and not the large one. I ended up having to go back through and do adjustments for a lot of people. So I started in the Spring just using the Itemized ones. I've not had any problems since. I explain that the order form follows the catty with the exception of the midseason items. I explain where everything is located and if they are having trouble finding anything to look for the page number in the shaded bars. This had really helped my out.

As for the wish lists, I noticed that no one was utilizing the ones on the write-in forms, but people were circling items that they wanted on the itemized receipts. I really like being able to have a copy of my guests wish list. The write-in wish list goes with the guest and then you as a consultant has no clue what they want.

OptionsI love that they offer us an option, because for each of us, our needs and desires are different.

I personally like the Itemized. They are large, but I love how they are organized by page number, then alphabetically. My "repeat" guests and hosts really like them too.

I have problems with the write ins because I can't always read people's handwriting, and they lend themselves much more to errors, I have found.

I use a laptop, and I have started having the guest read off to me the item number, and then I repeat back what the description says. This opens the door to dialog, and allows me to suggest complimentary items. "Oh, I see you're getting the Mini Muffin Pan! I love that item. One thing I have found that makes using it much easier is our Small Scoop. It's just the right size to fill the cups!"

I just tell them that this is how I make sure that I don't miss anything and get their quantities right. It has been working really well for me, and I avoid any errors.

I also had a problem w/ the itemized when I first started. I didnt know where they could find everything and adding it all up was a pain. But I do agree w/ the write in that people do screw up the price and if I'm not aware, I dont catch it til I get home and enter it in PP.

So right now I'm using the write ins and I'll see how it goes in the fall.

I go over the receipt with each person as I put it in the computer so I make sure not to make mistakes with the write-in receipts.

I love your way of doing it + plan to use your technique once I get a laptop!

I have seriously considered switching to the write ins because being still "green" to all this switching season's and such that I bought a whole pack of receipts that I can no longer use. At least with write ins I'll be able to use what I buy. I would really like to use the write ins though.... but I didn't think about the whole writing clearly, right price, right #-- food for thought! The doorprize slips are hard enough to read!

ItemizedI've found that people actually order more when I use the itemized. Guests at my shows like the convenience of having eveything right there and not having to re-write item numbers. Plus, I think it cuts down on mistakes. Then again I make mistakes with math either way;) ! LOL!

I don't use either! I love using colored outside order forms. It really helps when everyone has the "guest special" staring them in the face as they're jotting stuff down! I love going around the room and asking what everyone's favorites are, and I notice that most people jot down what sounds interesting to them on their order forms. Guests selling to other guests is fun! :)

So are you saying you use white paper and print off the OOF in color or do you use colored paper with B&W printing? If you use the white do you print off the order forms yourself or have them done at a print shop (like Office Max)? Or am I completely wrong on the above choices?

A girl in our cluster makes her own order forms including pictures and such, and forwards them to us. It's really great looking. I use those! :)

I attached the August one for an example, if you wanna create your own. I love these so much more than the Home Office supplied OOF's!

Hmm... I dunno why it uploaded with that weird font. My font is all Arial, so it's easy to read. Adjust as neccessary :)

I like the write ins, the itemized are big and bulky.

I am considering starting in Sept, just photocopying the wish list forms for shows. I also do the "call it out" system where I have them give me their items as I type in my laptop. I like the PP receipts a lot, and it's about a 1/3 of the price to order 100 of those than 100 write ins. I think I'll use the free ones I got for catty shows & outside orders.

I'll let everyone know how this goes! It seemed silly for me to hand them one receipt and let them know they'd get another in their bag. I think ppl will lose that one in the 2 weeks until their item comes. And if they REALLY want one right away, I can keep some write ins on hand w/me at the show.

At my first big show the other night I used the write-in's and had some problems with wrong #'s. May switch to the itemized, although I did have my laptop so could double-check against what they wrote down. I'm going to try the itemized at my next show next week. Verdict is still out!!!

I'm trying to order the free itemized receipt(ES22) through PP and it is not taking it. Anyone else had this problem?

I received this from my "Great-Grandmother" in TPC. I did find that when I was trying to input it, I had to make several adjustments to make it work (like the date range). HTH!

There are 2 things you will want to be sure to add to your next paperwork order...

First - Everyone is entitled to 40 FREE receipts. You can select 40 free write-in receipts (Item #ER76) or 40 free itemized recipes (Item #ES22). If you aren't sure which to select, ask your Director. I use the write-in receipts.

Second - Everyone is entitled to a FREE Round-Up from the Heart Trivet. You need to enter Item #ES48.

Some of these item #'s are NOT in Pampered Partner, which means you will need to add them manually. Here's how...

In Pampered Partner, go to "Update", then "Product Information". Hit "ADD" and then enter the information at the bottom.

For example... Item #ER76, 40 free write-in receipts, $0, category - paperwork.

Then be sure to hit the "UPDATE" button. If you do not do this step, it will not save the information.

Now you can enter that item # in your order.

There is one other paperwork item that I want to make you aware of. Every consultant is eligible to purchase up to 10 Celebrate cookbooks while supplies last. These books are being discontinued at the end of the month and are normally $14.75. But, Pampered Chef is making them available to us for $5 each! These will make GREAT gifts that you can give to hosts who book a date you're trying to fill or customers who purchase $100 or more. This item # is already in the system - it's #ES33.
