So yesterday I was making the snowman cake from our new cookbook and my 2 yr old spilt milk on it. I wasnt thinking and just wiped the top off and later thet evening I grabbed the ookbook to look at it and it was all stucj together. So now I have to order a new one, I am so bummed. On a good note the cake turned out really cute and nobody at my church dinner wanted to eat it, so I had to do the 1st cut.

Bummer about your cookbook. I would like to make that cake, too. Any suggestions.

Can you rinse the pages off and let them dry? Perhaps try ironing them later? If it comes out 1/2 way decent, you can tell people your story!

Jae my DH decorated the cake for me cause I was unable to get it in the snowman shape and he did a good job. He was getting frusterated about the scarf but what we just did was took a gift wrapping bow and pulled it apart and made the scarf. Very cute. I also made the hat out of black scrapbook paper.

Unfortunatly I tried to get the pages separated already so some of the pages are ruined. I figure it is only $6 so I will add it on to a fundraiser that I have open right now.

It is under warranty right. I would call HO and see what they say.

I don't think the warranty would cover spilt milk! LOL! It won't cover me burning the bottom out of my large bowl to the colander set either... It was Operator Error!

i am making the snowman for my open house...what does it call for the scarf? it didnt say and i couldnt figure it out.

I have had many adjustments approved by HO that were Operator Error. It's worth a shot!

LOL... I say... "don't cry over spilt milk" oh grown....I know that was just wrong!

I had my new spanish/english cookbook in one of my totes and was carrying in my coffee cup and wasn't paying attention and it spilled on my book. I didn't catch it till later on and it was coffee and sticky! I had to buy a new one too!:(:grumpy:

It looks like the use fruit by the foot or something like that, but we took a bow that you put on presents undid it and wrapped aound the neck.

For future reference: When using ay of our cookbooks (including SB) open to the page you want and put the book in a gallon size zip lock bag. I ruined a lot of cookbooks before I started doing that.:blushing:

Beth, too funny, but a good idea!

What a fabulous idea Beth! If I had known a few years ago I wouldn't have artwork in my cookbooks either! I still take those cookbooks to shows though....my baby made them better is what I figure!

That's what I don't get. What would not be operator error? Does that mean that all that's under the warranty is defects? because I was told that if your cookware gets scratched you could get it replaced. Is that not OPERATOR ERROR?

That is a good idea!
They also have cookbook holders. Mine is clear plastic and you stand your cookbook up in it. It's really nice, protects the cookbook and props it up so it's easier to read :blushing:

I used fruit by the foot and it worked perfectly. I also did cinnamon red hots for eyes, some M&Ms for the face, and used Hershey Kissables as nose and buttons. I will try to attach a pic for you. I ran out of frosting, but he is still pretty cute.
