At every show I always say "The mix n chop has been our hot item of the last 2 seasons. We sold so many that they put them on stop sell for a while." I've learned that even with no further description nearly every person in the room orders one. :D

I learned that when I was hosting a show. My Director said the same thing about the silicone basting brush and I totally fell for it. I didn't know if I'd ever use it, but thought I just had to have it because it was such a "hot" item. :chef:

In March I need to find a more high dollar item to say that about.

Tell me you just started in December?! Or just crawled out from under a rock! Those babies are flying off the shelves. I sell at least 1 at every party and everyone talks about it at my parties. I had one party where the host made sure every guest ordered one! It was outselling all my other products within two months.

  • #33
Cathy and I must have the same business!

SB Fall
Sb Spring
Citrus Peeler
Mix N Chop
Bamboo tongs
garlic press
food chopper
decorator bottles
can strainer
kitchen shears

so funny because I RARELY talk about or show any of these! Well, except for the SB... and the Bamboo tongs were discontinued!!!

Wow, too funny! The more I think about it, a lot of these top 5 (and 10 - the rest of mine look just like yours, too!) are "add on" items - I'm always adding on at check-out. If they are getting a small bar pan, I add the bamboo tongs (now the new ones!), if they are getting any kind of paring knife, I add on citrus peelers, if they didn't put the SB on there, I ask if they want some (not just one!). So, I'm not bummed about my top 5. I'm satisfied with my shows and my business, but I am going to start talking about the big items and less about the little ones, until check-out! :)

Is the Mix N Masher that good? I've never even seen one in person, it looks flimsy to me?? Maybe a product I need to purchase to try...

I forgot we could do this :)
Mix n chop 38 ( why it is #1 I will never know I hate the thing and never bring it to shows!)
Food Chopper 35
Executive 12" Skillet 30
Quick stir and color coated santoku tied at 28
I try not to talk about the color coated santoku because I figured they would sell themselves. But, at one show a lady noticed I kept washing it and reusing it so she ordered it because it must be my fave, she was right. I love that knife so much more than all the others, and I have all the others
Thanks for starting this thread rennea. cool :)

Yes Becky I do sell those pesky paper napkins too:p :D I always suggest them when people order the tile plates as a add on. It does work believe it or not.

Other add ons I suggest:

Bar board-paring knife
Cheese board-petite squares
always like to sell the corn butter/cob nobs together
batter bowls-whisks
small bar pan-mini serving spatula
large grooved cutting board-bread knife
any cookware-chef tools
any stoneware-pan scrapers
mini-muffin pan- tart shaper and small scoops
cookbooks-spices

Add on's maybe small but they do add up:chef:

You can say the same about the deep dish covered baker ~ and although it's $65, it pays for itself in just 3 or 4 meals if you are someone who tends to buy rotissarie chickens at the food store! It's my favorite product, my husband's too - he has actually sold 3 of them just talking to people about my chicken! LOL. It's my #1 career seller.

I think we sell what we like susan. I don't like the mix n chop, and that's why I don't sell many. I need to start really ranting about higher items. I do talk alot about our stoneware and do sell a ton of med. bar pans and mini bakers.

I never thought of telling people that, it's a good line and true too.....

(side note:The deep covered baker is $78.75 here in Canada so it can be a hard sell sometimes)
