Here is the piece that I copied:

I always do this each year when my documents start coming in I go ahead and put them in and get as far as I can while I am waiting on the rest of them. That's what I love about this online program (they may all let you do this I have not tried any other) as you enter your information in in the top right corner it tells you how much your refund is at each step. Of course it gets your hopes up in the beginning before all of your income if put in b/c it looks like you are getting the "earned income credit" and get lots back! ha!
dannyzmom said:Does it do state AND federal? Is it free?
jrstephens said:It is $15.95 for State and Federal and that includes e-filing.

This is my first year doing it so I'm learning. I don't want to go to someone else and let them do it but it looks like I may.
kat29 said:Okay I have a question...I wrote the code down and all for the direct sells stuff but what exactly do you put in the box that says "describe the general business activity and the type of product or service for this business." Do I just put Independent Consultant for selling Kitchen Tools or what??? I'm not sure what to type in.

A Business Activity Code is a six-digit code assigned by the IRS that identifies the primary business activity of a company. It helps the IRS categorize businesses for tax purposes and is used on tax forms, such as Schedule C for sole proprietors.
For Pampered Chef, you would typically use the Business Activity Code 454390, which corresponds to "Other Direct Selling Establishments." This code is appropriate for businesses that sell products directly to consumers without a physical storefront.
Your business type can be determined by how you operate your business. Common types include sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or LLC. For Pampered Chef consultants, most operate as sole proprietors, which is the simplest structure for tax reporting.
Yes, if you earn income from Pampered Chef, you are required to report that income on your tax return. Even if your earnings are below a certain threshold, it’s advisable to report all income to avoid potential issues with the IRS.
You can find more information about business activity codes and types on the IRS website, specifically in the instructions for Schedule C and other relevant tax forms. Additionally, consulting with a tax professional can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation.
