Should I switch waves at the 2008 National Conference for the Pampered Chef?

In summary, Just got this from my director. Did anyone else??? I did not hear anything....but thanks for posting! If this holds true, I'll be in wave 2 this year.......how about the rest of you? If it's right, I'll be in wave 1!!!!!!! Yea! Went from wave 3 to wave 2 to wave 1! I'm hoping to WALK too!

Nice! I'll be Wave 1! Now I just have to see if my new job will let me go then!! ;-)

  • #53
Wave 3 for me!

  • #54
Wave 2 for me, if I go.

  • #55
Just a note guys, this is the preliminary list to those directors...they still have their own wave change requests to put in if it doesn't work for them, then they'll be some shuffling. Take the list as a "most likely" but don't make plans until officially announced by HO.

Wonder why they're starting conference on a Thursday? July 10th is a Thursday. That's different. Wave 1 for us, unless a promotion changes it. My SD is so close to promoting. My director's director is one that will be affected by the $750 minimum. If she loses directorship, then my director will move to the SD & then the SD will promote to ED. :) Follow that? LOL!

  • #58
Like Janet said - it's not official so don't request off of your day job yet!

  • #59
Yes, please wait to take time off. The official lists will be finalized in October. We should know for sure then. If this list stands I will be in Wave 3. After being in Wave 1 (or 2) for several years 3 will be an exercise in patience, but I know it'll be worth it!!

  • #60
If the list stands, I'll be in Wave 1. I sure hope it stands. :)

Yay Ray! We will be together again if it sticks.:D

:D If the list stands, I'll be in Wave 1 as well!! Our first year since I started to be in Wave 1!!! YEah!!! How exciting!!! I already told my DH!:D

  • #63
July is soooooo far away!!!!!!!!

  • #64
It's lookin' like WAVE 1 for me!! Yippeeee!! Kristin, Rae - we can hang out again!!

  • #65
I don't know if this means anything, but our cluster DID get an email today from our director saying we ARE in Wave 2...so start thinking about planning...
just my 2 cents...

Before everyone gets excited ~ we got a note from our SED Barbara Duke ~ she warned everyone this is not set in stone. It's a tentive list...

Hi Everyone,

It appears that the list of National Conference Dates has somehow leaked out, but I need to make you aware that these dates are certainly not yet set in stone in any way. This was a “tentative” list issued to the Executive Directors yesterday, and HO is waiting for input from everyone as to possible conflicts, etc. before making a final decision on the dates.

Thanks, Ginny!!

  • #69
Thanks Ginny for repeating what I said on Page 2.

No matter who told you to plan, this is the FIRST draft of the list. EDs still have to put their own change requests in and depending on who does that, depends on the shuffle to balance the changes out...

Wave 3 for me.
Ashley and I get to do Chicago this time!!

Yup, and you've been around a little longer than me so you're probably more convincing. ;) He-he!

I'd just hate for anyone to mistakenly start making plans!

I think there is an upside to being in Wave 3. You get to have shows between July 4 and conference! The first two weeks of July were shot with the 4th and Wave 1. If there is an incentive we can get an early start and get the shows closed w/o worrying about the end of the month weighing on us.

  • #74
I was in Wave 3 last year...it's just hard to wait to see what's new when everyone else already knows. but it was worth it. I actually don't really care what wave I'm in...I just want to go.

But, my SD told us, IN PRINT, that we are in Wave 2. Whatever...I'll be there whenever I are supposed to be...

Hopefully we can all get together again for a couple of hours...whoever is in the same wave as I am. That was great meeting al of you last conference.

I thought that too Jill! I only had 2 weeks to do shows in July - and that was a killer with it being a sellathon month.

I'll be in Wave 3 and I'll be HOME for my 10th anniversary! I've been at conference for the other 3 years! So...strange happiness over having to wait.

  • #77
If the list is correct, I'll be in wave 1. I hope we can all meet somewhere like we did last year.

Does anyone know if the updated list has been posted yet?

  • #80
We'll all get an email (more than likely) and it will be in the CN. We should only have to wait at most 3 more weeks.

  • #81
I got an email this morning from my NED that we are wave 1...the Radu cluster

  • #82
I would be under Chris Manion. Hopefully I am still with you Carolyn and Rae!

  • #83
Got an email today from my director. Definitely in Wave 1! Woo hoo!

  • #84
Wow, I know nothing about National Conference (I just started PC) but I had no idea it was so big that there were three "waves." What do you know, my due date is during my (3rd) wave. Probably wont be going!

  • #85
On my commission check is says third line director: Home Direct
So that is Wave 1 for me Right???

  • #86
If your first or second line directors are not Executives or higher, then yes. Check the list in the first post. If any of those names are people listed on your check, then you'll be in their group (although not necessarily the wave indicated by that list as it was tentative).

  • #86
I fall under Chris Manion. :) Since I'm so new to PC I never knew you didn't have a choice of when to go. I thought if one date didn't work that you could pick another week to go. But if I'm understanding y'all, if you go then you MUST go at the same time as your national or executive upline? TIA!

You can ask for a change if you need to, but you're expected to go when your upline is scheduled.

If you have a valid reason - prior commitments (major) or other things, you can request a Wave change and have your director sign and then submit it to HO. I did this for 2007.

I know myself, ChefBeckyD and JAE should all be in Wave 1 too.

Well, if this holds true, I'll be in Wave 2 and wouldn't you know it, my birthday falls right in those wave dates! LOL Guess I'll be celebrating with my PC family instead of my own family. :D

  • #93
There are worse ways to spend your birthday.

This is true! LOL

My worst birthday was my 39th. I had to rush my husband to the ER. So, anything other than a trip to the hospital is a good birthday!

  • #95
Yeah, that sets the bar pretty low.

  • #96
We'll be in Wave 1 unless our SD promotes! YAY!!! :D

  • #97
We'll also be in Wave 1 unless our SD promotes!!:D

  • #98
Did everyone get the email today? Official assignments have been made. I'll be in Wave 2. I'll probably have to fly straight from MT from my brother's wedding to make it there, but I can make it work!
