Hello all,
I am fairly new to both TPC and CS. My question to anyone who can answer is: Have you recruited family members and what did you say to them to get them over the hump. It seems like family can come up with every concern in the world why this will not work for them. Sometimes I think that they don't believe what I am saying is real. Anyone one with experience in this area. Help Me Please!! TIA Heather

I havent come across this yet. You can't recruit someone in your same household. I think it would / could get very sticky recruiting a family member. Especially if it didnt work out for them for whatever reason....I dont know, I think it would be a strain of the relationship...IMO.

2 of my recruits are family members. No problems and both are doing well. Of course they told me no quite a bit, but once they saw that I was really having fun they wanted to be part of it too! It has to be on their time, just like any other recruit.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why might family members be resistant to joining my direct sales team?

Family members may have various reasons for being resistant, including concerns about the legitimacy of direct sales, fear of failure, or a lack of understanding about the business model. They might also worry about the impact on personal relationships or feel uncomfortable mixing family and business.

2. How can I effectively communicate the benefits of joining my team to family members?

Start by sharing your personal success stories and the positive experiences you've had with Pampered Chef. Highlight the flexibility, potential income, and community support that comes with being part of a direct sales team. Tailor your message to address their specific interests and concerns.

3. What strategies can I use to alleviate their concerns about direct sales?

Listen to their concerns and validate their feelings. Provide them with information about the company, its reputation, and success stories from other consultants. Offer to answer any questions they have and suggest starting with a trial period to see if they enjoy it without a long-term commitment.

4. How can I maintain a good relationship with family members if they decline to join?

Respect their decision and avoid pressuring them. Keep the lines of communication open and continue to engage with them about other topics. Show that you value your relationship more than their participation in your business, which can help maintain a positive dynamic.

5. Should I offer incentives to family members to join my team?

While incentives can be effective, be cautious when offering them to family members, as it may create feelings of obligation or discomfort. Instead, focus on the intrinsic benefits of joining your team, such as personal growth and community, rather than monetary incentives.
