So, last night I used my mix & masher to mash bananas for banana bread. When I was washing it, the middle circular part broke off:mad: Hopefully mine's just defective & we don't hear a bunch of these doing this.....

My sister had the same problem only with potatos. the middle broke on hers also.

I'm not real thrilled with the new tools....I have been with PC for 8 years and the other nylon tools are sturdier! My spoon turned all green when I used it to mix something...
And speaking of products restyled that aren't as durable...anyone having problems with the quick stir pitchers? I have had a # of customers voice their opinions about the plunger part not being very strong. I have had 2 of my own that I had to replace...love the handles but not the lid and plunger.

I'm disappointed in the pitcher. Mine has tea stained horribly. Some of the new products just don't seem to be holding up to PC standard. Not to mention all the backorders and stop sells this season.

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that your mix & masher broke while you were using it. That must have been frustrating. I would recommend reaching out to our customer service team to see if they can help you with a replacement. I haven't heard of any widespread issues with the mix & masher, so hopefully it was just a defective one. In the meantime, please let us know if there's anything else we can assist you with. Happy cooking!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to use the Mix & Masher for banana bread?

The Mix & Masher is designed to easily mash bananas to the desired consistency. Start by peeling ripe bananas and placing them in a mixing bowl. Use the Mix & Masher to mash the bananas until smooth or leave some chunks for texture, depending on your preference. Make sure to apply even pressure and use a twisting motion for best results.

How do I clean the Mix & Masher after using it for banana bread?

Cleaning the Mix & Masher is simple. After use, rinse it under warm water to remove any banana residue. You can also wash it in the dishwasher on the top rack for a thorough clean. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbers to maintain the integrity of the tool.

Can I use the Mix & Masher for other ingredients besides bananas?

Yes, the Mix & Masher is versatile and can be used for other soft ingredients such as avocados, cooked potatoes, or even cooked apples. It’s perfect for mashing any soft food item, making it a great addition to your kitchen tools.

What should I do if my banana bread is too dense?

If your banana bread turns out too dense, it may be due to over-mixing the batter or using too many ripe bananas. To troubleshoot, ensure you mix the ingredients just until combined and use the recommended amount of bananas. Additionally, check your baking powder or baking soda for freshness, as expired leavening agents can affect the rise of your bread.

How can I tell if my banana bread is done baking?

To check if your banana bread is done, insert a toothpick or a cake tester into the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs, the bread is done. If there is wet batter on the toothpick, continue baking for a few more minutes and check again.
