Maximizing Benefits: Consultant as Host Option for P3

In summary, the Consultant as Host option in P3 allows consultants to act as the host of a show and receive the host benefits, but they will not receive commission on the subtotal amount. This can also affect their career sales and points for incentive trips. It is important to accurately list yourself as the host if you are the consultant to avoid any discrepancies in commission or incentive points.

What is the benefit of the Consultant as Host option in P3? Would I be able to order the current Host product special?

Yes. The only difference is where the free product is deducted. Normally, the subtotal amount (after the free stuff & the discount) is commissionable sales on a show. When you are the consultant acting as host, you do not get commission on that subtotal on the host side. All of the host benefits are the same for you or a host. ;)

You as a consultant also do not qualify for the booking benefit. HO does also audit shows, and if you have the show shipped to you without using c/o on the address, they may convert it to "Consultant as Host."

I believe that can also happen if it's in the name of a family member who shares your address.

Yes, it can. I had a friend who is a former consultant. She has the same first name as her mother-in-law, so by marrying her husband, she now has the same last name as well. They have a different middle initial, but she said there were several times when she had to speak with HO to confirm that it was her MIL that hosted, not herself.

It may not seem like a big deal up front (just a little bit less in commissions), but keep in mind that it changes the amount of commissionable sales dollars you have as well. This affects your career sales as well as points you earn for your incentive trips. You should always be accurate in showing that you were the consultant if that is the case, so you don't get surprises on your commission statement or if HO decides to audit your incentive points.

Yes, I know Noora agrees with me that it's important to accurately reflect the truth. If you're the host, list yourself as the host.
