What the... ?

That's one way to make money on their excess server capacity...

I am completely floored!!!
Did you notice on the bottom there is a tech support #. It is
1.800.555.1212 There would be no way to reach them.
People are absolutely rediculous!

How can someone legally do this? Our logo is copyrighted (is that a word?!)

Is this some kind of a joke? I don't get it

I dont know... I was cruising the internet googling "TPC Pampered Chef" and found that after many pages. Isn't that odd? It's not a Pampered Chef domain thing. I emailed Career Solutions to see what they had to say. That's just so weird!

Okay...I sent an email to Richard Laiche (I'm sure he's getting tired of CS contacting him!) because that was the only email I had for a "real" person. It will be interesting to see what he says.

I also looked around the site and there is a number to call (1-800-721-0985) with billing questions. I called it and since it's 1 am they didn't answer :) but the recording said "Thank you for calling internet provider services". It didn't say Pampered Chef. I'm going to call again in the morning and ask them about the connection to PC.

So bizarre!

Additional note....I just sent them an email to their [email protected] address. I asked them if they were in any way affliliated with PC since they were using our logo. Doubt I'll hear from them but will post it if I do.

Second edit of the night....the email I just sent came back undeliverable. User name unknown.

It's also the old logo. This looks like a very common thing that some ISPs do. They purchase domain names that are based on commonly searched words, then use the site to promote their own services or offer the domain for sale for an exorbitant amount.

No, it's the new logo. The old logo had a hen. I don't think it's right that they can say "internet service from a brand you know and trust". That is false advertising. If they really want business, why have a bogus tech support/billing number and email address?

Wonder how many consultants would sign up for this just to have "pampered chef" in their email address?

The Hen was 2 logos ago....The new logo includes the Tag Line "Discover the Chef In You".

I can't believe anyone would sign up for a service w/ bogus #'s - but you never know! If a PC consultant did it, they would be in violation of their contract.

The logo with the chef's hat is still being used. It's on the cover of my KCN that came yesterday. The tag line was an addition but didn't replace the entire logo. :)

what the????
Oh my gosh, how stupid!
I'll be watching this thread today!

Most of the official materials from HO use the logo that has the words "Pampered" and "Chef" on the same line, so I consider the 2-line version the old one. That's all I meant by "old logo."

I knew what you meant! They don't have the most recent one. Some people don't even realize that there is a newer one, because they really kept with the integrity of the old.

Hopefully, someone will be able to ake action with the logo mis-usage.

the hen in the hat on KCN?? Wierd We "retired" that in 2000 when we brought out the new chef hat

I had an internet squatter sitting on my name for awhile - I'm not sure how I pried him off of it, but I've got my own name as a domain now.

At least I don't have a hen-on-a-hat on my site.

DH wants a specific domain for the forum he runs, but someone has it and will give it to anyone with $10k. So he's sticking with the domain he's got now (he wanted the other one as a pointer to the current forum.)

If I was smart, I would have done that! LOL

This site is registered by Cybertrails 1919 W. Lone Cactus Drive Phoenix, AZ 85027. IP of 162.42.195.131.

As far as having the domain name, they have it registered. Using the logo, well HO will have to deal with that, and any battle over the type of domain name.

There were a lot of internet squatters in the beginning, and some of them were successful and others weren't. That's why some businesses have weird domain names that don't seem to fit - because they didn't pay the domain blackmailers.
