Slice the potatoes with US&G. Soak them in salted water for a bit. Place on
classic round stone and micro on HIGH for 10 minutes--first batch, 7 minutes
all other batches because the stone is already hot. You can also sprinkle
your favorite seasoning on top before microwaving--BBQ is awesome!!

Another recipeI also, do a baking recipe, oven at 375 and bake for about 25-30 minutes.
Probably could go to 400 or 425 for just 20 minutes. I spray the stone with a
little oil and season the potatoes before cooking.
But I will be trying the microwave type, sounds a little faster! :)

them! They are not soggy at all!

Thanks for the tip, Lois! I've never thought about using a round stone to cook potatoes in the microwave. I'll definitely have to give it a try. Do you have any other tips for achieving the perfect crispy potato in the microwave? I'm always looking for new ways to cook my favorite foods faster. And BBQ seasoning sounds like a delicious addition. Can't wait to try it out!

Frequently Asked Questions

What ingredients do I need to make fat-free potato chips in the microwave?

To make fat-free potato chips in the microwave, you will need just a few simple ingredients: fresh potatoes (such as russet or Yukon gold), salt, and optional seasonings like pepper, garlic powder, or paprika for added flavor.

How do I prepare the potatoes for microwave cooking?

Start by washing and peeling the potatoes. Then, using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the potatoes very thinly, about 1/16 inch thick. The thinner the slices, the crispier the chips will be. Rinse the slices in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with a paper towel.

What is the best method to microwave the potato slices?

Place the potato slices in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate lined with parchment paper. Make sure the slices do not overlap to ensure even cooking. Microwave on high for about 3-5 minutes, checking every minute to prevent burning. The chips are done when they are golden and crisp.

Can I season the potato chips before microwaving them?

Yes, you can season the potato slices before microwaving them. Lightly sprinkle salt and any other desired seasonings on the slices after placing them on the plate. Just be careful not to over-season, as the flavors will intensify during cooking.

How can I store the fat-free potato chips after making them?

Once the potato chips have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container to maintain their crispiness. They can be kept at room temperature for up to a week. If they start to lose their crunch, you can re-crisp them in the microwave for a few seconds.
