Hello,

I am a new consultant and I love my bar pan! I do not know how much I should be scraping off though because every time I use it and scrape off the food, it returns to the original color. There are spots where it is becoming seasoned, but I made bacon on it this morning and when I cleaned it almost everything came off!

How much am I supposed to be scraping off after each use in order for it to become properly seasoned? Thanks!

The stone is becoming more smooth (vs the scratchy feel it had when it was brand new) each time you use it and that's what counts! Don't worry about the color, that will come.

Scrape it all off! You don't want food residue and left over grime build up. Gradually over time it will get darker. It will be darker over time also where ever there wasn't food compared to where the food was sitting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much should I scrape off my Pampered Chef stoneware after cooking?

It is generally recommended to scrape off any excess food or residue from your Pampered Chef stoneware after cooking, but avoid scraping too aggressively. A gentle scraping with a plastic or silicone spatula is usually sufficient to remove stuck-on food without damaging the surface.

Can I use metal utensils to scrape off food from stoneware?

It is not advisable to use metal utensils on Pampered Chef stoneware, as they can scratch and damage the surface. Instead, opt for plastic or silicone utensils to safely remove food without harming the stoneware.

What is the best way to clean my stoneware after scraping?

After scraping off food, you can clean your stoneware by rinsing it with warm water and using a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid using soap, as it can absorb into the stoneware. If necessary, you can use a mixture of baking soda and water to help remove stubborn stains.

Is it necessary to scrape off all the food residue?

While it's important to remove excess food to maintain the stoneware, it's not necessary to scrape off every last bit. A light scraping to remove larger pieces is usually enough, as some residue can help season the stoneware over time.

How can I prevent food from sticking to my stoneware in the first place?

To prevent food from sticking, ensure that your stoneware is properly seasoned before use. Additionally, using a small amount of oil or cooking spray can help create a non-stick surface. Preheating the stoneware before adding food can also reduce sticking.
