40 days ago I opened an email from KG reporting Paige's disappearance, We are used to the funny things he posts so his disclaimer was this is for real......
IF ONLY, it could have been another one of his jokes and it was her AV that was missing or an "important thread" had been removed, not her from her life..

I gave a couple of people my cell phone # so I could be contacted when she was found that was the week of July 4. Never could I have imagined a month later she would not be back with her family..

We grasp at any media coverage, angry when it portrays her secret, but still her children go to bed at night without their mommy. Given a chance many of us would be there searching for her.

My children brought home a cross for me the other day to honor my friend Paige. I have 2 walls in our foyer of crosses that people have given me. They chose to buy one that stands up and I have put it above our fireplace where I have the word FAITH. I was so touched by their gesture that I went and bought one to honor her children. It is on the other side.

I was thinking maybe we could do something for Paige's children....
Soon school will be starting and that little girl will have to face another chapter in her life no mommy to attend meet the teacher night, no mommy to bake her pretty cupcakes for the bake sale.

I assume Paige's accounts are tied up & maybe her parents are being tapped financially. Maybe, if we sent giftcards so they could get happy meals or coloring books, puzzles something. Anything to let her know she has not been forgotten.....

Maybe just cards mailed to her parents so they know how much Paige means to us.

ooh - count me in. I know that someone must have contact info for Paige's parents. If they could share that, even through PM, so we can mail them something, please.

That's a great idea...

I'm in. I also have extra school supplies (always buy extras) I would be happy to send along!

How would we get an address? Are they staying at Paiges house?

I don't know maybe Evelyn or Mrbogie will know.
I wonder if her mail is being checked by LE you know a bunch of boxes start showing up, are they "inspected" & do I care?? We are doing this for her family so, they know she isn't forgotten.

We should post a list of what is being sent so, they don't get lots of duplicates.... it's a nice gesture but they don't need 21 bottles of Elmers glue we don't want it to be a burden to her parents but a Blessing.

that is such a thoughtful idea! Count me in!

So, I'm thinking we should start a new thread and post after we've been shopping what we are sending.....

Any ideas what to title it???

I need to look again and find the ages of her children I think the oldest is a girl the other 2 boys right??

I'd love to send a card, and a gift card to Walmart or someplace, even if $5, would be helpful and appreciated, I'm sure.

What a great idea, Teresa. Let me know what you need me to do.

Me too pleaseI want to be included!

Thanks;

Liz

I would be honored to participate in this.

I wonder what stores (Target, Walmart) or fast food places or treats like a baskin robbins, cold stone they have in that area?
Anyone familiar with her town??

Sounds like a great plan. I would like to send something. I like the idea of maybe sending a giftcard or gift cards because we don't know if they already have some of what we may want to send. They do make gift cards that are like a credit card, like AmEx or check with one of our banks to see if we could get one that is visa?

Depends if they're in GJ or back at Paige's parent's house in Denver.

I do know that Coldstone has locations in CO, as does Noodles & Company, Target, Old Navy, WalMart, all the basic fast food, etc. You can probably find information about any chain on their corporate sites and just search for GJ.

I want to participate! Just let me know the details.

WOW!!!
Thanks!!

I am not collecting $$ for the gift cards, please purchase whatever you wish, post it on another thread which i think I'll name care packages, so we don't end up with alot of duplicates.

If you do gift cards just list the store or rest. it is not necessary to post the amount.

I like Kim's idea! That way, they can use it for whatever they would like to do with the kids! I went to the Smartonegiftcard.com site (cards we got at conference with our conference cash) and it says : You must be a debit or credit cardholder of the First National family of banks to purchase a smartOne® Gift Card. I am not one of their customers...

I would love to help/participate with doing something for Paige's kids! I can not even imagine what they are going through right now.:(

I agree gift cads a great, bt.... I'm still a little kid at eart and imagine opening an envelope with a git card that maybe no one has time to take you at that moment to use.

Crayons, videos,, slinkys etc can be played with immediately and may give the caretakers a much needed break. It will be nice for them to have someof each.

Does anyone know the ages of Paige's children?

If no one has contacted Evelyn, I'll PM her and get details... ages, names, address and anything they can use.

I think I read that her kids are 3 (boy), 5 & 8 (girls)....someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought it was 2 boys and a girl.

Definately count me in!

I'd contribute to this too!
Her kids are 2 boys, who are the youngest and a girl who's the oldest. That's what I've seen in her pictures with her kids too.
Great Idea TeresaLyn!:)
It breaks my heart to think of what life is like for those 3 kids!:(

Paige's children are Jess (girl) who is 8, Taft (boy) who is 6 and Kohl (boy) is 3.
I am also interested in participating in this wonderful and thoughtful project. And yes, I am sure that some child who has overheard adults talking will have to pass on a comment or something that they have heard about Paige's secret life. Working in a school, it is bound to happen no matter how wonderful the faculty and staff are about protecting her.

I wonder if Taft is supposed to start Kindergarten this year. Ugh...:( :( :(

If he's already 6, then he should be starting first grade.

I knew someone would correct me.....

Maybe not. If he has a late birthday he might have been held back. A lot pf parents do that with boys (plus, isn't he the one with with a disability?)

This is true...sometimes they hold boys back, but not in many cases. Good point, something to feel a bit better about!

I was one of the young ones when I started school (I have a Sept b'day and entered 1st grade when I was 5) so I wasn't really familiar with this until I was talking to my son's pre-school teacher. One of my son's classmates from pre-school will be turning 5 next week. His parents are holding him back one more year as he is just a little immature and not ready for kindergarten, so that will make him 6 when he starts kindergarten next year (I personally think in his case it's the parents who aren't ready for school...). My DH was also held back when he was young. We are the same age, but I graduated highschool a year before him :p .
