Paige Birgfeld was one of us, a Pampered Chef director in Grand Junction, Colorado. In june of 2007, she disappeared without a trace. Her car was found, fully engulfed in fire, two days later. As the fruitless search for Paige continued, details of her life evolved, including a secret life that none of us knew about. Her case went cold, but in 2012, hikers came across human remains in far western Colorado. DNA testing confirmed the remains were those of Paige.
On November 21, 2014, an arrest was made in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Mesa County Sheriff's Department announced that Lester Ralph Jones was arrested and is facing several charges, including First and Second Degree Murder, Kidnapping and Arson. On May 4, 2015, a hearing was held that determined the DA has enough evidence to bind Jones over for trial. As of this writing, he is still being held in a maximum security detention center under $2 million bail.
Paige's case has been featured on CBS News' 48 Hours and tonight, NBC Dateline will feature Paige. The story first aired some time ago but tonight's version is updated with new information about Jones and the case that has been built up against him.
