Help! My very beloved large round stone is having issues. I've had it for about 6 years, and it is very seasoned, the kind you LOVE to show, and up until a few months ago, was as nonstick as could be. All of a sudden, everything is sticking to it, even crescent rolls, and the food items are leaving "marks" on the stone. I tried a baking soda paste, but the marks stay, and I tried baking a tube of crescent rolls rolled out over the whole stone (I had to chisel them off).

Anyone know why this is happening? I'm almost to the point of buying a new one and starting over, but this is my BABY!

Anyone?

TIA,
Diane

(whispering)...use some soap! It sounds like you have build up and soaping it up a little bit may help.

I'll whisper, too.I may give that a try. At this point, I don't think it can hurt!

Thanks for the suggestion. Shhhhhh.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes my Pampered Chef stoneware to stick?

Sticking can occur due to several factors, including insufficient seasoning, using too much oil or fat, or not preheating the stoneware properly. Over time, stoneware develops a natural non-stick surface, but if it's not seasoned correctly, food can stick.

How can I properly season my Pampered Chef stoneware?

To season your stoneware, wash it with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry it thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil or shortening to the surface and bake it in the oven at 350°F for about an hour. Let it cool in the oven to help build a non-stick surface.

Is it safe to use soap on my stoneware?

It is generally not recommended to use soap on your stoneware, as it can strip away the seasoning. Instead, clean it with warm water and a non-abrasive scrubber. For tough stains, you can use a paste of baking soda and water.

What should I do if my stoneware is still sticking after seasoning?

If your stoneware continues to stick, try re-seasoning it. Additionally, ensure you are using the right amount of oil or fat when cooking. You may also want to avoid cooking foods that are particularly sticky, like certain cheeses or sugary items, until the stoneware is well-seasoned.

Can I use my stoneware in the microwave?

Yes, Pampered Chef stoneware is microwave-safe. However, be cautious with recipes that require high moisture, as this can lead to sticking. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines for microwave use to ensure the longevity of your stoneware.
