See this isn't' a sales site... it was a website that the Fair put up... to list all their vendors..... it doesn't' even have my PSW on it listed.. I made sure that wasn't' listed on anything that I gave them prior to the bridal fair if the brides want something then they can come and contact me personally was my thought. Oh well see what I get for doing what I thought was right???

I do not think they are. But I'd have to check the policies and the Director handbook.

Edited to add: This is in response to Laura's post. Leah snuck in there while I was typing. :)

No offense, Leah, but before everyone jumps on the "I hate HO" bandwagon, did anyone else click on the link to see what was presented?
It wasn't just an email address and a picture, it was a whole page about the benefits of the Wedding Registry. That specific information had to have been provided to them.
Just ask the Bridal Show people to remove it and you should be fine. But, if we aren't even allowed to post that we are consultants in online profiles, this is definitely not allowed.
Just MHO. :o

Sorry this happen to you Leah. Have you heard anything back from either of them?

I know what is listed .... however when a fair ask you for information you do have to provide it...... so that is what we did...... The problem is I did not that this is not allowed because we weren't even allowed to sell anything at the bridal show... I could get bookings and I could sign people up for the registry BUT that's it........

Leah, I just clicked on the link and saw TWO Consultant's listed. Have you contacted her to see if she got the same thing from HO?

Ok everyone WOAH!!!!!

Leah this stinks and can see how it would start your day off bad.

The POP does state that you can have your info up for a bridal fair but it states that the info must be removed after the fair or event is over.

Everything Beth said is correct. Just have the site take your info off.

This happens alot if you sign up with an organization to do fairs. They will put your info up without you even knowing. I am a member of my local Chamber and I have to keep checking and reminding them not to put me on the site. And to make sure they are listing me correctly.

Also I know this all stinks especailly with all those who break the rules via myspace and ebay (not going there again I am trying to let all that go...). As long as you know you are running an honest business to the best of your ability then you will be fine.

She got the same letter that I did...... :( that is part of the reason that I am so upset... because when you think your doing something right... or just providing information things like this happen....

I have emailed the bridal fair once already and I havent' got a response yet... :( ... nor have I got a response from anyone at HO either....:(........

Can I cry yet???

Leah... Just CC all your emails to the brial company to HO and they will know you are trying and can not fault you!

It will be OK!

I have email HO and the Birdal fair compnay.... and I still have NO response from either of them.. it is frustrating ...... when no one replies back... :(

HO will get back to you.. don't worry. Today is day 3 of Session 3 and tomorrow starts the canadian conferences. HO is short staffed... someone will get back to you. Keep your chin up!

what Colleen said!!

;)

1. Sorry you are upset by the letter - they are just doing right and fair to all of us.
2. As everyone said, work to remove it and you are fine. HO isn't "out to get you" just to correct that...and I'm glad to see they actually do it!
3. For fairs, if they MAKE you provide information - clearly state that it CANNOT be displayed on their website. That will help avoid it in the future.
4. Upper levels do have some higher priviledges - I don't know them all, but if you have a legitimate, specific question, address it to HO rather than naming names and stirring up trouble. We've been respectful in the past to say "a director" so let's keep it that way.
5. I'm in list mode - sorry...must be the engineer in me...

I have had to make five phone calls today becasue I am signed up to do some fairs this summer to make sure that they are not going to have my ad listed on their site.... so here is a question for everyone..... can we as consultants have our names and phone numbers listed as "INDEPENDANT" constlants without an lets say it was a vendor listing on a fair's website???

We're supposed to idnetify ourselves as "Independent Consultant for The Pampered Chef®", because that's the official title.

Rather than risk having HO consider it advertising when the fair posts your name online, how about telling the fair you can't be listed online at all and see if they'll give you a discounted rate?

Unfortunately it is work to do "right". Good job following up on your business though to make it right.

If you have any specific questions, just to be sure, I'd contact career solutions like it says in your letter for any help.

I think we can get an okay from HO to have our info put on a website for a fundraiser. I would think a fair would be the same. Of course that's before the event - just a thought for future reference to everyone.

How did you get them to register that day?
I tried that at a fair, but they herded them through like cattle and no one wanted to do it that day.

Easy peasy........ First we offered a drawing for one of the knives.... and a free cooking show.. so everyone wanted registred for the drawing... that was how we got them in...then we talked about the benefits.. and how they could sit at their computer wearing pinky fuszy slippers planning their wedding and their earning tons of free products!!! I had the ad genertator from merrill stappled to the top of the registry sign up sheet...

Is the ad generator worth the $$?

Depending on how many times you use it. :) You can subscribe for 1 month, make and save all sorts of ads, then let the subscription lapse.

Not that that's what I did, no, not me..... ;)

Sorry Leah,
I think I hijacked your thread.

No apploglizes necessary....... it's better than me getting depressed even more LOL

I guess I may have to research it further. Before now, I chalked Merril up as being too expensive.

awww.... {{{{{hugs}}}}} to Leah. Don't get depressed. If you copy HO on your communication with the fair, then you've CYA (covered your, um, butt) and shown that you are trying to get it resolved. If the fair is being unprofessional and not returning your communication, that's their problem.
