Hi everyone, I'm just getting started on booking some shows so that I can sign my consultant agreement. I've already gotten so many great ideas from this site. The majority or my family and friends live in a different state, so I am thinking of sending an e-mail to all of them to see if they'd be interested in a catalog show, or a cooking show the next time we go back to visit. Since I'm new at this, does anyone have any suggestions on how I should word it? I live on a military base, and I just found out that there's a PC consultant who lives right down the street from me! This worries me a little, but I'm hoping that I'll still be able to find people on base to host shows. :) I think I'm going to put up some flyers - hopefully I'll get a good response.

I just asked all of my family and friends! Alot said no, but they would come to shows in the future! My sister lives about 9 hours from me and has done one catalog show, and has another planned for this summer, we are hoping it will actually be a cooking show though! My very first show was at my house, its called your grand opening. My went ok, I only had five people there, but had some outside orders. I started mid-nov so now I am trying to get outside of my network of family and friends! Just ask!! Good luck!!

Def. ask for referrals.

Thanks! I just found the new consultant letter under 'files'. I tweaked it a bit since most of my family and friends will be more likely to do a catalog show at first. I'm going to send it out today, and hopefully I'll get some bookings so I can sign my agreement! :)

Have you seen the list of 118 ways to get bookings?

Thanks, that's really helpful! I just made a list of people off the top of my head, and have 47 so far....I guess that's a good start.

Just be careful you follow the rules on base...normally unless people are outside their houses you can't go door to door. But if you catch them outside doing yardwork or letting their kids play, they're fair game. Be sure you check though on what you can and can't do. I wasn't even allowed to post a sign in my yard for Avon on post when I sold...but I could prop it in my window. There are ways to branch out on a post, you just have to do it 'their' way. Good luck!

Yeah, I will probably have to put an ad in the base paper or something. I know that there are bulletin boards posted in the Post Office that you can put flyers on...I've seen a PC flyer there before, but nothing recently.
I have another quick question (I keep forgetting to ask my director about it when we talk, so I figured I'd ask in here while I'm thinking of it). I know that you have to pay to get your PC website, but how do you go about getting one??

On Consultant's corner is a link for "personal website assistant", I believe if you click that it will ask you if you want to sign up for a PWS. You must have either a PC debit or credit card to sign up I think (although that may have changed since I joined).

I'm also a fairly new consultant (I just completely my first 30 days on Feb 28th).

I make sure to rebook ALL of my current hosts (when the host rebooks a show at her second show she gets TWO of the host specials, one for being the current host and one for being the past host that the show was booked through). We get it on the calendar several months out. Not one if ny hosts have refused.

My director plays a game at each show that I've also been doing -- she wraps a present and takes to to the show -- she has a ribbon, a bow and the wrapping paper. The first person to book a show gets to remove the bow, the second the ribbon and the third the wrapping paper. Once unwrapped the host gets the present. It's great for directors since they get so many free items, but I was a frequent Pampered Chef guest for 6 years before I became a consultant so I already had many of the items in my start up kit so I've been using the duplicate items as my wrapped host presents.
