I have a host who has an allergy to soy, so I am wondering what to suggest that I demo at her show. Soy is in almost everything we eat so I feel rather limited. Any suggestions?

Try and select a recipe that has as many whole foods in it as possible. In other words, nothing processed-Pillsbury crusts for example. Check out the "Spin on Salads" cookbook. I was just looking at the Georgia Peach and Chicken salad. You can serve it with cornbread, but again, maybe from scratch ahead of time just to avoid anything added to mixes or store bought. I'm sure your host can guide you.

What a great idea! Thank you so much!

No problem! We don't have any food allergies in our family, but having been a teacher for many years, I'm really senstive to making sure everyone stays healthy. Good luck!

Another thought...ask the Host "What are your favorite ''allergy safe" recipes?

Pick one to make that you can make for the cooking show that guests will enjoy. Dessert, perhaps?

Show it off in the trifle bowl, on SA, etc. Use PC  tools and study ways to make it quicker/easier to prepare--

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some tips for finding allergy-friendly recipes for my Pampered Chef shows?

Start by identifying common allergens such as gluten, dairy, nuts, and eggs. Look for recipes that are naturally free from these ingredients or can be easily modified. Utilize the Pampered Chef website, social media groups, and allergy-specific recipe blogs to discover suitable options. Additionally, consider reaching out to your network for personal recommendations.

How can I modify a Pampered Chef recipe to make it allergy-friendly?

To modify a recipe, substitute allergenic ingredients with alternatives. For example, use almond milk or coconut milk instead of dairy milk, and gluten-free flour blends instead of regular flour. Always test the modified recipe beforehand to ensure it maintains the desired taste and texture. Be transparent with your guests about any modifications made.

Are there specific Pampered Chef products that can help with allergy-friendly cooking?

Yes, Pampered Chef offers various tools that can assist in allergy-friendly cooking, such as the Food Chopper for quick vegetable prep, the Mix ‘N Chop for easy blending, and the Silicone Baking Mats to prevent cross-contamination. Additionally, consider using separate utensils and cookware to avoid allergen exposure.

How do I communicate allergy-friendly options to my guests during a show?

Be proactive in discussing allergy-friendly options at the beginning of your show. Clearly label any dishes that are free from common allergens and provide ingredient lists. Encourage guests to ask questions and share their dietary restrictions. This open communication fosters a welcoming environment and helps ensure everyone feels included.

Where can I find resources for allergy-friendly recipes and cooking tips?

There are many resources available for allergy-friendly recipes, including websites like Allergy-Free Alaska, Minimalist Baker, and the Food Network's allergy-friendly section. Additionally, consider joining online communities or social media groups focused on allergy-friendly cooking for shared recipes and tips.
