Mmmmm... I just made applesauce in my DCB in the microwave and it was great!

I just peeled about a dozen apples and cut them using my apple wedger. Put them all in the DCB with about a half cup of apple cider and a few shakes of the Cinnamon Plus Spice blend.

I cooked it for 15 minutes on High, stirred it a few times and mashed it with my Mix N Masher - couldn't have been easier!

sounds good, I'll have to try that. I bought a package of rolls (the ones that cirlce around) and put a pat of butter on each, sprinkled with the cinnamon sugar spice we have and baked on the LBP. YUMMY!

The apples were so soft and the sauce was perfectly sweet and flavorful. I love that I didn't have to add any sugar - the natural sweetness of the apples and the spice blend were just perfect. I'm definitely going to make this again and maybe even try adding some other fruits like pears or cranberries for a different twist. This is such a great way to make a healthier and more flavorful applesauce without any added sugar or preservatives. And the best part - hardly any clean up! Just rinse out the DCB and you're done.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ingredients do I need for the Easy and Delicious Applesauce Recipe in the Microwave using DCB?

For this recipe, you will need fresh apples (about 4-6, depending on size), water, sugar (optional, to taste), and cinnamon (optional, for flavor). You can also add lemon juice to enhance the flavor and prevent browning.

How do I prepare the apples for the applesauce recipe?

Start by washing the apples thoroughly. Peel, core, and chop them into small pieces to ensure they cook evenly in the microwave. You can leave the skin on if you prefer a more rustic texture.

How long should I cook the apples in the DCB in the microwave?

Place the chopped apples in the DCB with a little water (about 1/4 cup). Cover it with the lid and microwave on high for about 8-10 minutes. Check for tenderness and stir halfway through cooking. If they aren’t soft enough, continue cooking in 1-minute increments until desired softness is achieved.

Can I customize the flavor of my applesauce?

Absolutely! You can customize your applesauce by adding spices like nutmeg or allspice, sweeteners like honey or maple syrup, or even mixing in other fruits like pears or berries for a unique flavor profile.

How should I store the applesauce after making it?

Once the applesauce has cooled, transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week. You can also freeze it in freezer-safe containers for longer storage, up to three months.
