If it's really old, the blades may be dull. There are replacements on the replacement parts order form. It might be worth the couple of bucks to see if that fixes the problem.HockeyLover said:I was given one by a friend that is 13 years old! You should see the box! It appears to be in good condition, but I have yet to be able to make anything but applesauce with it, and I've only tried with Granny Smiths! I think I'll have to check out the product info. I'm wondering if it's missing a piece?
I have never tried it for potatoes because I figure it won't peel them completely. Do you find some of the dimples in the potatoes leaves the skin on? Do you use all types of potatoes?legacypc46 said:This is one of my favorite tools in the entire line...I love it for apples, but even more so for potatoes!
Yes, the Apple Peeler/Slicer/Corer is designed to handle a variety of apple types, including both firm and softer varieties. However, the performance may vary slightly depending on the apple's size and texture.
Firm apples such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Fuji tend to work best with the Apple Peeler/Slicer/Corer, as they hold their shape well during the peeling and slicing process.
Softer apples, like McIntosh or Red Delicious, may not peel or slice as effectively due to their texture. While you can still use them, you might experience more difficulty and less uniform results.
Yes, the Apple Peeler/Slicer/Corer features adjustable settings that allow you to accommodate different sizes of apples, ensuring a snug fit for optimal peeling and slicing.
Cleaning the Apple Peeler/Slicer/Corer is easy. Simply rinse the parts under warm water and use a soft brush or cloth to remove any apple residue. Most parts are also dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning.
