What does everyone have for their business voicemail message. I am a brand new consultant so I am looking for ideas. Thanks in advance!

My family phone and business phone...are one line. So here is what I say. "Hello you have reached The Bauman's along with the home office of Marlene Bauman, Independent Sales Director, with the Pampered Chef. This is the week of February 20 and I will be in the office M,W,F from 1-3 pm. (or whatever my office hours are that week, or if I will be out of the office for the week) If you are calling outside these office hours, please feel free to leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thank and have a great day!"

I have heard many times that by having a weekly message you portray a more professional business. Also, by committing to these office hours, I force myself to work them! And by having the part about leaving a message if it is out of those hours, I can look at the caller ID and decide whether to answer it or not. DO NOT become a slave to the phone! We have a rule at our house...no one answers the phone during dinner time PERIOD!

HTH! :D

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I include in my business voicemail message as a new Pampered Chef consultant?

Your voicemail message should include your name, your business name (Pampered Chef), a brief introduction about what you do, and an invitation for the caller to leave their name and number. You might also want to mention your availability for callbacks and encourage them to visit your website or social media for more information.

How long should my voicemail message be?

Keep your voicemail message concise, ideally between 20 to 30 seconds. This allows you to convey essential information without losing the caller's interest. A shorter message is more likely to be listened to in full.

Can I use a script for my voicemail message?

Yes, using a script can help you stay focused and ensure you include all necessary information. However, try to sound natural and personable rather than reading verbatim. Practice your message a few times to find a comfortable delivery style.

What tone should I use in my voicemail message?

Your tone should be friendly, professional, and approachable. You want to convey enthusiasm about your business while also sounding trustworthy and reliable. A warm and inviting tone can encourage potential clients to reach out to you.

Are there any examples of effective voicemail messages for new consultants?

Yes! Here’s a simple example: "Hi, this is [Your Name] with Pampered Chef. I’m excited to help you with all your cooking needs! Please leave your name and number, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. You can also check out my website at [Your Website]. Thank you!" Tailor it to reflect your personality and style for the best impact.
