I'd like to make this for my party on Friday and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to whether it's better to do the whipping cream or just use cool whip? Also the recipe calls for it to refrigerate...did you? Does it make a difference??

I used cool whip. It was ok. I wasn't able to do 2 full layers because I put too much angel food cake on the bottom. So make sure that you just maybe put 1 single layer of Angel food, strawberry, cream cheese mixture and then repeat. Hopefully then it will work.

I made this for a family gathering. I really enjoyed it, as did most of my family. I would recommend using a smaller angel food cake, maybe a 10 oz. size?, so you can use more filling.

Also, I did use the extra creamy cool whip. I don't think I'd do a whipping cream, as it would take too much time for a demo, but that's just my opinion. Good luck!

Frequently Asked Questions

What ingredients do I need for a Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle?

To make a delicious Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle, you will need the following ingredients: fresh strawberries, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, whipped cream, graham cracker crumbs, and a cake or brownie base (store-bought or homemade). You can also add some lemon juice for extra flavor.

How do I prepare the strawberries for the trifle?

Start by washing the strawberries thoroughly. Remove the green tops and slice them into thin pieces. You can sprinkle a little sugar on the sliced strawberries to enhance their sweetness and let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to release their juices.

Can I make the trifle ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle ahead of time! Assemble the layers in a trifle dish or individual cups, cover them with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.

What is the best way to layer the trifle?

For the best presentation and flavor, start with a layer of the cake or brownie base at the bottom. Next, add a layer of the cheesecake mixture (cream cheese, sugar, and whipped cream), followed by a layer of sliced strawberries. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with whipped cream and a few strawberries for decoration.

How can I make my trifle look more appealing for a party?

To make your trifle visually appealing, use a clear glass trifle bowl or individual serving cups to showcase the layers. Garnish the top with fresh strawberries, mint leaves, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. You can also sprinkle some graham cracker crumbs on top for added texture and decoration.
