90210 ... Anyone Else Excited About the New Version?

I am just so excited about the new 90210. :love: I had to share with someone (you guys) bc my husband just doesn't get it. (Granted he is 12 years older, but still!)

I am glad to see Shannen and Jennie coming back to play their old characters and I read on the web somewhere about who's playing who. It looks like a good cast.

I just hope the show isn't a let down!!

Starts on Sept. 2 (Tues) on the CW11.

Ok Don't laugh! On the Soap Channel it comes one 2 times 5 and 6 EST. I just finished the entire seasons. They show them in order. Now it is back to season one. So if you have no life(like me) and want to watch the orginal series you can start at the beginning.

On the new series. I heard Kelly is a school cons. I wonder if she is married to Dylan Hmmm.

I've been getting past seasons from Blockbuster online and I'm currently watching Season 5 - loved this show in its heyday but realize how cheesy it really was when I watch it back now. Still fun and I'll tune in to see the new series as well.

I read yesterday that Kelly has a 4yr old son with Dylan & they expect him to appear later in the season
The girl who plays the new Brenda-type role (moves to LA from the midwest) is played by a Cdn girl. She's been on a show that is kind of the Cdn 90210 called "Degrassi" for yrs. It's pretty popular in parts of the US, too.

no there was an article i read somewhere (us or people) about how there were rumors flying about why shes not coming back. one of the "rumors" was she was offered less money than the other two girls. another rumor was she was too busy with her reality show & new book...

Yeah that. I heard that she would not take less than what the others were being paid especially since it was her dad's show. I kind of agree with her.

I'm more apt the think it's cause of her other reality show and scheduling than I would think over salary disputes! She deserved as much as Kelly, if not more than Shannon!

No, not watching or going to watch. I don't thik I ever watched it as a kid. I remember when it was on t.v. There either was something else on that my family watched or I was busy playing sports. When did this show run?

The show originally ran 1990-2000. Hard to believe it's already been that long - I watched all of them from the start (I was right out of college) and find myself rewatching them now (although they are pretty cheesy!)

I watched bits and pieces of it. I felt like a high school/college kid though watching a teenagers show. I guess it come from knowing how old I was when I watched the first one. I doubt I keep up with it very much. Unless Dylan comes back as the father of Kellys baby and then I may have to rethink it, ha!

I loved that! Glad someone else caught it. And I love that "Silver" is actually Erin Silver, Kelly & David's little sister.
In the preview they showed Kelly's mom.

I thought it was a little weak at the beginning, but I was hooked by the end. And really, Rob Estes on the screen for 2 hours....:love:

Ok, so I watched it. I was a tough critic. A llittle slow start..but It started with something going on in a car, and if you saw it you know. I think that is TOO MUCH to show on TV. I really like the Annie character--she's cute.
I will probably still watch it.
And I was so glad to fast forward thru the commercials!!

way toooo many commercials...... I watched it with my DS and he was more excited about it than I was. I will probley watch it again and have "quality" time with my DS. sometimes you gotta take time with them whenever you can............

I wonder if my Mom thought that way, too...but I don't remember the original being so raunchy. (at least maybe not till the end of the series, when they were all way older)

I made it about 10 minutes in before I shut it off. Holy cow! Is this what we want our high schoolers watching?!!? The scene in the parking lot of the high school...that was OBSCENE:thumbdown::thumbdown:...I would have died if I was watching it with either of my DH's kids (13 and 16)

I guess I should have known better. If the original was a "bit" edgy...than the remake was gonna have to be over the top.

Plus, I was thinking it was going to be directed more towards adults than younger HS age kids....

Definately not my cup of tea anymore...

My mom used it as quality time with me as well and then we would would talk about the issues on the show. It made for some not so awkward conversations. Kelly is a guidance counselor with a 4 year old son (supposedly Dylan's), Brenda is an actress in town to do a play and will be directing the West Beverly school play. The Peach Pit is now a coffee shop and Nat is still running it. Plus there is the Pit, which is a nightclub attached to the Peach Pit. Kelly's little sister Erin is now one of the girls on the show and Andrea Zuckerman's daughter is also at West Beverly hosting their TV announcements. I like the merging of the old and the new... It will be interesting to watch - I am definitely excited about it!
