I haven't had a cooking show since July and was a little nervous heading to my show tonight. I've only had catalogue shows for August and September and nothing for October. What a great feeling to get back in the saddle again AND get a new highest show total - $1490 and counting :D:D

She had $766 in outside orders BEFORE the show - one from a woman at work who at the last minute couldn't make it but placed a $425 order - after shipping, taxes and round up it was a $500 even order! I've NEVER had someone order that much. The host tried to tell her that this could be a catalogue show of her own (the host had done two previous shows for me three years ago so she knows what she's doing - one was $920 and one $1207) but the customer said 'no, don't worry about it'. Speaking of which, would you send this customer something as a thank you for such a large order?

Re: Woohoo! Thanks! Only $500 away from level 2. Another show tomorrow and that will cover level one and hopefully get me to level 2 and on to level 3. :)

For those I have now confused..in Canada it's 2000 for level 2, 3500 for level 3 and 7000 for level 4 :)

Re: Woohoo!I would DEFINITELY send that customer a note thanking her for her order! That's so awesome, Congratulations!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do to prepare for my first cooking show after a long break?

To prepare for your first cooking show after a break, start by reviewing your previous shows and noting what worked well. Familiarize yourself with any new products or recipes from Pampered Chef that you can showcase. Practice your presentation and cooking techniques to build your confidence, and consider hosting a smaller gathering with friends or family to get back into the groove.

How can I overcome my nerves before the cooking show?

Overcoming nerves can be achieved through preparation and practice. Rehearse your presentation multiple times, and consider visualizing a successful show. Deep breathing exercises can help calm your nerves before the event. Remember, your guests are there to have fun and learn, so focus on enjoying the experience rather than being perfect.

What if I forget something during the cooking show?

If you forget something during the show, don’t panic. It’s perfectly normal! You can improvise by explaining the missing step or ingredient, or simply move on to the next part of the recipe. Your guests will appreciate your authenticity, and it can even lead to a more engaging and relatable experience.

How can I engage my guests during the cooking show?

Engaging your guests can be done by encouraging participation. Ask questions, invite them to share their cooking experiences, and involve them in the cooking process. You can also share fun facts about the products you’re using or offer tips and tricks that they can use in their own kitchens. Keeping the atmosphere light and interactive will make the show more enjoyable for everyone.

What should I do if I feel like my sales are low after the show?

If you feel your sales are low after the show, take time to follow up with your guests. Send thank-you notes and include links to the products used during the show. Consider offering a special promotion or discount for attendees who place orders afterward. Additionally, gather feedback to understand what might have influenced their purchasing decisions and adjust your approach for future shows.
