perhaps a disgruntled one. My initial thought was "kitnappers unite!"There has got to be a consultant behind this.

So do we think this is really selling PC products? Wonder how many members they already have....sounds fishy if you ask me.

Found the ad by doing a search on craigslist.

It definitely looks fishy to me, and you have to pay 10.00 to join, plus I don't understand the "unique" bid. I wonder how many people fall for this stuff? We are such a great company and have the BEST host program out there. To me, this has scam written all over it. JMHO

Sounds like these "penny auction" sites people get sucked into. You think you are getting a great deal when you "win" an auction, but once you realize how much you actually spent bidding, you should have just bought the items!

Barb did you send this link to HO? I would. I am not going to pay $10 to find out what is in there but I do believe this is completely illegal not only from a consultant may be behind it to real federal infringement laws. They will make $50,000 just on the registration alone. I wonder too if it is a way to suck in people to get their $10 then they never win anything. Either way, with them using the Pampered Chef name, that is way illegal. If you click on the "current Auctions", they have the gall to point directly to the Pampered Chef website for full info on the products. I think we have a traitor too as the Grill Pan set is one of the "packages" being auctioned! It is August's Guest and Host specials but the set is missing the recipe cards, so I think it is a consultant.

what a shame!! i wonder how many will fall for this :(

This totally frosts my cookies... It bothers me when people have new products up on EBay... but this is even worse. HO definitely needs to know about it. Especially with a link to the PC website.

I don't know much about legal stuff but one thing I notice may be their loophole. They are selling "Pampered Chef" and our company is "The Pampered Chef". I know that's why someone at conference was able to get her 31 purse with "Pampered Chef" on it.

How were you able to see they had a link to the PC website and that the grill pan and presss were one of the auctions? That does make it sound like a consultant, perhaps a disgruntled one. My initial thought was "kitnappers unite!"

There has got to be a consultant behind this. I looked at the "Terms and Conditions" link, and buried in the mumbo-jumbo is a contact name of David Welch in Independence, MO. A few quick googles and it turns out there is a David Welch married to a Sarah Welch who -surprise, surprise-sells PC.

Seems to me that would be the kind of info HO needs to know.

She came up on the PC "Find a consultant" search, and they're linked on facebook. I wonder how much longer she'll be active after this stunt.

I reported a lady in my town who has a store.. in her window are signs for The Pampered Chef (official banner), Tupperware, Avon and Home Interior(which is bought out) and when you go in the store it is seperated into sections for each company.. with current and outlet products for sale. She had the food chopper for $50... on her website you could see all of this in her pictures.. I went in and got the name of the consultant and after alot of persuading that I really wanted to buy a set of cookware and they kept saying they were not allowed to give out the consultant's name,,I got it.. called home office and they looked into that that person was not an active consultant that month and there was nothing they could do about the store.. nothing!!!! really??? but she has your banner in the window... products in the store and nothing!!!

Actually using any part of the name is against the trademark of The Pampered Chef. As consultants we cannot use any part of the name, logo or tagline. I'm not sure what the lady with the 31 purse tried to tell you but she should have not put that on there.

That is exactly why my 31 tote has 'Robyn's Cooking" on it.

It baffles me that a consultant is behind it... and making a profit off charging people $10 to join.

She isn't the one that told me it was okay, I mentioned to my director when I got back that I'd seen it and she said that since PC is "The PC" that technically it was okay. I'm surprised then that 31 allowed it. I would think they would know these things.

They have a link straight to TPC in their "view current auctions". I am sure HO won't be too happy about that!

Then your director is wrong - we cannot use any part of the name, logo or tagline.

I find this surprising as I just ordered a 31 purse and the consultant specifically told me that I could not have "The Pampered Chef" or "Pampered Chef" put on it!

  • #22
I sent an e-mail to Shan Eisler who cc'ed me on the e-mail when she forwarded it to Janice Capinegro....

  • #23
I sent one too when I first saw the thread.

  • #24
I believe many people have been notified....Even Jean Jonas...

  • #25
So this thread has been bothering me... so I came back to it and clicked on the link to that site and it was taken down! Hooray!

  • #26
Cool! Chalk another one up to social media grass roots movements. ;)
Wonder how long before it pops up somewhere else though.

  • #27
I wonder if the consultant will have any consequences...

  • #28
glad it's gone!!! just wasn't right!

We were right though. And very illegal if HO is letting their legal department do something about it. And was it removed voluntarily or by force? I still think it was about the registration money and a scam. Pull people in with a very enticing product line and then all the sudden, no products, no money and now no web site. Reason: why not just buy more products? They would have had $50,000 to do so? So who pulled the plug? The people running it because they got what they needed? Or because they got wind of the fact that someone was on to them? Like someone out here who knew we knew and had reported it? Or was it HO's legal department? They seem to have known about it for a bit so... Ms. Marple! Where are you when we need you! Gonna make me nuts for a bit not knowing who did what to who!

not to mention make you mad because you know someone was scammed out of money...even if it was just $10, or a few other bucks at "auctions". They will possibly be associating that scam with the TRUE Pampered Chef. Scumbags. :) Plain and simple. Ranks right up there with identity thieves.

Well, "Pampered Chef" is a registered trademark, so that alone is enough to get the legal deparment involved.

I mean really a lot of gall! I could not believe what I was seeing as I went through some of the screens. All the references to the PC product names as well. I can't help but wish the worst for whomever. I do not care how needy they may be, crime is not the way to fix their problems. Get off you fat rear end and do something about it instead of hurting others. Geez! Bobbi - if we ever find out who it is, we should go and poke them with Meat Lifters! No blood, just poke em! Or at least paddle their rear ends with the Flexible BBQ turner. I think that would hurt more than the other one!

  • #36
i know! it was reprehensible!!!! it's bad enough they get away with it on e-bay but this was really the worst....and john...i have my bbq turner all ready for the rotten scandrel!!!!

I just clicked the link and it says the site is no longer available.

  • #38
If you look for the consultant, is she still active and able to be found?

  • #39
No active website but an email available when searching on PC website.

  • #40
I clicked on that link from the OP and it says the 'website is no longer available.' Maybe HO was alerted or the Welch's took it down. ?

Yes!! This is so right on -- though at conference we were near a group of people with TShirts that their director had bought them with "The Pampered Chef" on it, and they were not Merrill shirts, which I believe is the only approved clothing with the logo on it.

  • #42
Actually, pg 49 of the policy guide says:
...you must use the proper trademark symbol ™ or ® in the materials you produce...
So it appears if the Director owns a T-Shirt press, made them herself & used the ™ or ® in the title, she's good. The policy does prohibit us from giving the information to a vendor for reproduction. So if she had them made by a local vendor or online, then she was in violation of the policy. But it specifically has the clause about things that we produce for ourselves. ;)

  • #43
So, if I have an embroidery machine, can I make my own shirts as long as I use the trademark or registered symbol?

  • #44
Yes, that's right.

  • #45
Yes! I remember someone a few years back explaining how they made a banner for themselves for a fair. They had a printer that could enlarge stuff and print it out on multiple pages.

If anyone is curious about the website that started this thread, google "secretpamperedchefclub". Look at the first result and click on the word Cached and you can see what it looked like before it was taken down. Google still has a copy of it on their servers - for a while.

  • #46
so, if anyone other than myself owns an embroidery machine, PM me. I have the old logo without the tagline. I can convert it for your machine if you let me know what machine or format you need. I won't sell it to you as I can't but I can send you an e-mail with it attached.

Here's what my logo looks like:

I make my own logowear. Had a few consultants in my cluster THROW A FIT til I showed them I can do it. Now they do it too. lol
