Any new reply will 'bump' that thread back up to the top of the thread chain. Most easily see if you use the 'new posts' feature of the forum. There you see the most recently active threads... You don't have to write bump unless you are trying to keep your own thread up toward the top of new posts or the top of that particular section (depending on how you cruise this site)... some folks choose to write things like "hello... can anyone help?" or something similar... but bump works and that's what it means if you see it.
