I would bet the majority of you don't remember Vince Lombardi as anything other than a name on the Superbowl Trophy. I don't blame you, after all, he died in 1970. He was a master motivator, and his advice is as salient to you today as it was to the teams he coached from high school to the NFL.
Lombardi, unlike today's coaches, always dressed well on the
sidelines. In the fall, he was usually seen wearing a tan colored
rain coat, when it got cold, it was characteristic for him to wear a
tan colored cashmere coat.
Lombardi was the coach of the Green Bay Packers from 1959 through 1967, taking a less than average team (1-10-1 in 1958) and in one year, turned it into a perennial winner that dominated professional football in the 1960s.
An actor, Dan Lauria, does a very good impersonation of Lombardi, and the NFL Network hired him to give a pre-game speech to the NFC playoff teams. You might want to watch it - there is good advice in there to anyone who wants to excel in anything - including The Pampered Chef.
