It said something about recieving something when you donate more then the $5,when will we get this & what is it??? I dont wanna just hand $25 over to someone for nothing when something is mentioned when signing up
 
I don't remember hearing about getting anything extra when you're a gold supporter. Maybe a lifetime membership? I became a Gold Supporter quite a while before they instituted the $5 annual fee, so I don't know.
 
I am not sure that you get anything besides that nifty badge by your name.
 
I became a Gold Supporter when they started the $5 annual fee and all I received was the badge by my name! But this site has been worth much MORE than the $5 fee!:D
 
How do you become a gold supporter?
 
Go to User CP and on the left column, under Miscellaneous, you'll see a link for Paid Subscriptions. When you click on it, there is an option for a regular subscription ($5) and the Gold Supporter subscription ($20).

Being a gold supporter isn't a lifetime membership. I am a gold supporter and I saw that my membership expires in January. I thought that gold supporters were supposed to get extra special options, but I haven't figured out what they are if we do. And I agree, this site is worth it whether we get special options or not.
 
I just paid the $5 but I would have paid more. I think they are charging the $5 just to keep up with the costs, but have the optional gold membership more like a donation rather than a higher level of service.
 
I have to wait till friday But I am going to change my membership to Gold Supporter!!! :)

I am a gold supporter and haven't received any extra benefits as far as I know. My suggestion is that if you have already paid your $5 membership, wait until it expires to "upgrade". Honestly....when my membership expires I will only pay the minimum fee next time. I was really disappointed in the response we received when there were alot of questions about not receiving email notices. I understand that it became an issue with AOL that Greg had no control over but the lack of response for weeks on end really disappointed me. Especially when it came immediately after I just forked over $20! My two cents.....

I am right there with you but, the reason that I did the Gold is because this site has helped me tremendously and I wanted to give back and make sure that it stayed around for other consultants.

One thing that you do get with Gold is more PM's and more storage space...:rolleyes:
