The Pampered Chef ®
Hibiscus-Swirled Cheesecake Trifle
Recipe

Hibiscus Syrup

1 cup hibiscus (jamaica) flowers
2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar

Trifle

2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 frozen prepared pound cake (16 ounces), thawed
2 cans (15 ounces each) mandarin oranges, drained
2 cups green grapes, cut in half
Additional mandarin oranges (optional)

For syrup, place flowers and water into Small Micro-Cooker®; cover. Microwave on HIGH 8 minutes. Strain liquid into Small Batter Bowl using Strainer; discard flowers. Return liquid to Micro-Cooker®; add sugar. Microwave uncovered on HIGH 10-12 minutes or until thick and syrupy, stirring after 4 minutes. (Syrup should measure about 2/3 cup.) Allow syrup to cool.

For trifle, whisk cream cheese and sugar in Classic Batter Bowl until smooth using Stainless Whisk. Fold in whipped topping using Small Mix ‘N Scraper®.

Cut pound cake into 3/4-inch cubes with Bread Knife. To assemble trifle, place half of the pound cake cubes into bottom of Trifle Bowl. Top with half of the hibiscus syrup and half of the fruit. Attach open star tip to Easy Accent® Decorator; fill with cream cheese mixture. Pipe half of the cream cheese mixture over fruit, refilling decorator as needed. Repeat layers one time with remaining pound cake, syrup and fruit. Using decorator, pipe rosettes to cover top of trifle. Garnish with additional mandarin oranges, if desired.
