I am hoping you all can send some good vibes/thoughts my way. It has been a long few months and I am having a hard time understanding some thing that are going on right now.

Alot of it has to do with the custody modification concerning my oldest DS and that in itself has lead to some huge financial difficulties. :( It seems like we take one step forward and ten back and it starting to wear me down.

Thanks in advance.

(((HUGS))) Laurie!

Sorry things aren't going well - it's hard to understand why the right thing has to be so hard.
I'll be praying for you, for your little guy, and for the courts to make the right decisions for him.

Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves. ~Dale Carnegie

When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before. ~Jacob A. Riis

In other words, you can do it. We believe in you!

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers Laurie. (((HUGS)))

Praying as well. I like to read Exodus 14:14 whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some ways to send good vibes to someone going through personal struggles?

Sending good vibes can be as simple as offering your support through kind words, thoughtful gestures, or even small gifts. Consider writing a heartfelt note, sending a text message to check in, or delivering a care package with their favorite snacks or self-care items. Sometimes, just being there to listen can mean the world to someone facing challenges.

How can I support a friend dealing with custody modifications?

Supporting a friend during custody modifications can involve being a sounding board for their feelings, helping them navigate legal resources, or simply providing emotional support. Encourage them to seek professional advice if needed and remind them that they are not alone in this process. Offering to help with daily tasks or providing a distraction can also be beneficial.

What should I avoid saying to someone experiencing personal struggles?

Avoid minimizing their feelings or offering unsolicited advice. Phrases like "It could be worse" or "Just think positive" may come off as dismissive. Instead, focus on validating their emotions and letting them know that it's okay to feel how they feel. Listening without judgment is often the best approach.

How can I create a positive environment for someone going through custody modifications?

Creating a positive environment can involve fostering open communication and encouraging them to express their feelings. You can also engage in uplifting activities together, such as going for a walk, watching a feel-good movie, or participating in a hobby they enjoy. Surrounding them with supportive friends and family can also help create a more positive atmosphere.

What are some thoughtful gifts to send to someone facing personal struggles?

Thoughtful gifts can include self-care items like candles, bath products, or journals. You might also consider sending a cozy blanket, a book that has inspired you, or a subscription to a streaming service for entertainment. Personalized gifts, such as a framed photo or a custom piece of art, can also show that you care and are thinking of them during tough times.
