SHARE THE JOY.......

I am definitely doing this!
When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to
this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of
how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so
much would get.

A Great Idea!!!

When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please

A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center

My son spent some time at Walter Reed a few years ago and all you need to do is walk through the halls to realize how much you want to do for them.

After reading this, I went over to the box of cards I just bought and filled one out!

There is another thread on this, unfortunately, if you do not address it to a specific Soldier, you card will NOT be delievered to anyone. Its a security thing. The other thread has an alternate address in which you can send your cards, its to the Red Cross I believe. I'll see if I can't bump it for you guys!

The correct address to send cards to..

Holiday Mail for Heroes
PO Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

It is sponsered by the American Red Cross. Your cards will be distributed throughout the world to American soldiers.
Cards must be postmarked no later than Dec. 10. Please to to the Red Cross' website for restrictions and requirements.

1. How can I participate in the "Send an Xmas Card to a Recovering Soldier" program?

To participate in the program, simply visit our website and fill out the online form. You will then receive the name and address of a recovering soldier to send a card to.

Unfortunately, due to privacy and security reasons, we are unable to allow participants to choose a specific soldier. However, we carefully match each participant with a recovering soldier to ensure that all soldiers receive cards.

3. Can I send more than one card to a soldier?

Yes, you are more than welcome to send multiple cards to a recovering soldier. In fact, many participants choose to send cards to multiple soldiers to spread holiday cheer.

4. Is there a deadline for sending the cards?

Yes, we ask that all cards be sent by December 1st to ensure that they reach the recovering soldiers in time for the holidays.

5. Will I receive any confirmation that my card was received?

We are unable to provide individual confirmation of card receipt, but we assure you that all cards are delivered to the recovering soldiers. Your participation and kind gesture means a lot to them during their recovery.
