Hi!! I had a friend call this evening asking if I knew how to get Silly Putty off of the silicone trivets???? Freezing the trivet didn't work....any ideas? Thanks
Nicole

Maybe...Could you nuke it for a bit in the microwave and use the other silly putty to dab it off? I have never tried it just trying to figure out a way to help you, because I have had some fun with silly putty of my kids.

If all else fails...go to the silly putty website and ask them. When my kids were younger, there were a couple of times I had to contact the company to find the best way to remove stuff from places it was NEVER meant to be!

That sounds interesting! :D

Goo GoneMaybe try Goo Gone? I don't have kids (yet) but Goo Gone gets all kinds of sticky stuff off.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to remove Silly Putty from silicone trivets?

The best way to remove Silly Putty from silicone trivets is to freeze the trivet for a few hours. Once the Silly Putty is frozen, it will become brittle and can be easily scraped off with a plastic spatula or your fingernail.

Can I use heat to remove Silly Putty from silicone trivets?

Using heat is not recommended as it can cause the Silly Putty to melt and spread further into the silicone. Instead, freezing is a more effective method for removal without damaging the trivet.

Are there any cleaning solutions that can help with Silly Putty removal?

Yes, you can use rubbing alcohol or a mixture of dish soap and warm water to help break down any remaining residue after scraping off the bulk of the Silly Putty. Apply the solution with a soft cloth and gently scrub the area.

Will removing Silly Putty damage my silicone trivet?

If done carefully, removing Silly Putty should not damage your silicone trivet. Avoid using sharp objects that could cut or tear the silicone, and opt for gentle scraping methods instead.

What should I do if the Silly Putty leaves a stain on the silicone trivet?

If there is a stain left after removing the Silly Putty, try cleaning the area with a paste made from baking soda and water. Apply it to the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, and then scrub gently with a soft cloth before rinsing thoroughly.
