So I haven't been nervous before a show in a long time but today I am. I have a very large bridal shower this afternoon. 35 guests coming plus the bride and the host!!!!!!!!

This is exciting and unnerving all at the same time. Love any advice before I leave today!!

Wow! Good luck and I'm sure you'll be awesome!

By the way, my dad lives in Spokane. I've been there loads of times; it's beautiful!

Just take a deep breath! Share your excitement & I'm sure it'll go well!

I have been packed up and ready to go since about 10pm last night :p
To include my clothes ironed and ready to put on :p
On a average show I would be tying up loose ends but I have none left!! So I guess I sit and play for the day!! LOL

GOOOOOOOOD LUCK!!! I am excited for you!!!! Tell us tomorrow (or tonight) how it went!!
:)
Anna

Umm, I vote for tonight!:D

I'll let everyone know tonight. I'm hoping to be on a $1,000 show cloud, when I post. My aunt (the host) however is hoping to be on a $2,000 cloud!!! :D

the only regret I have so far is that I didn't purchase a bridal apron. I was going to use a season's best in its place.

Can you just buy a regular white apron at Walmart instead? I think it would be a great momento for the bride-to-be!

I'm planning on stopping by walmart and micheal's on my way to see what I can find.

Good luck! Post your results! Love to hear how it went, what you did etc!

So.....how'd it go?:)

Sorry,
hubby was on the cp last eve. It was $1,000 show!!!! 35 people showed up, I have done better presentations then this one but the show was good.

My aunt kinda mad me mad though she wasn't ready when I got there, the show didn't start on time and I only got to do about 1/2 of my presentation  Though the sales again were awesome, we aren't closing yet because there are still people who would like to order. I will give more details later I have a busy day and won't be back on until this eve provided I can get the pc away from my hubby.

Good job Brooke! If you did the other half of your presentation maybe it would have been a $2000 show, LOL!!!

Congrats Brooke!

Awesome! You might have to change your best show number!

Yes Lacy I will have to change my show nuber when we finally close the show this week.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on here. My hubby is a pc game junkie and he has been on the pc for days!! :o

So I found a white "replacement apron" at linens and things. (Walmart, shopko, and target don't carry aprons) We used a pink sharpie marker.

I arrived at 4:45pm the show was supposed to start at 6pm. However when I arrived my aunt was no where near ready. So instead of getting ready for my presentation, I had to help my aunt in the kitchen. ( she made 3 appetizers, 3 salads and a 3rd dessert, only the dessert and 1 appetizer were ready when I arrived)

So needless to say the show didn't start on time  It was outside, the set up was beautiful. I was facing the sun though, so I had to put my glasses on so I could sort of see. I had trouble seeing my "cheat sheet" I couldn't tuck my hair behind my ears because i had my glasses on so my hair kept falling in my face. then the 1st set of tables was almost 5 feet away so I don't even think the people in the back could hear me. (which was 4 tables back from the 1st)

I was on my second recipe putting the strawberry cheesecake torte together when my aunt thought we should start eating because the sun was starting to set. I finished taking orders in the dark, while the guest played the games inside.

I never got to finish talking about the specials, or even get the door prize slips filled out. Everyoone was leaving by the time I finished taking orders :(

I am very happy with the sales of this show, but 0 booking from a crowd that large is very discouraging. I keep telling myself if I had a chance to finish my presentation, do the door prize slips and my closing that the out come would have been different.
One of my favorite lines I use is in closing "Do you like what you have seen so far? Do you want it all? Well I can help get your products a couple of different ways. 1 customer 2. host (explain benefits again) 3. become an consultant (explain kit and ss program)

Brooke - use those customer care calls and ask them if it is time to schedule their own cooking show to get a whole bunch of free stuff. Let them know that they don't have to go all out like the host did. Make sure they know how much the free product came out for this show.

The bigger the show the harder it is to book. Guests look around and say I could never handle this many people. You really have to convince them that most shows aren't that huge. In your case you have a perfect excuse - this was a bridal and a higher percent attend those than regular shows.

Thanks my plan is to get on the phone and thank everyone for attending Erin's shower, and for getting her started of right. I'm working on the wording right now.

I was thinking something along the lines of since we never got to the door prize slips I was calling to see if you may be interested in hosting a show of your own. Would love any advice or ideas

That's a good idea Brooke--provided everyone left their information on the order forms. You can also use it as an excuse to see if they want anything for themselves or if they have any questions that you might not have been able to address had you had the time. Good luck and keep all of us posted!

I've seemed to notice that I tend to get more bookings with smaller groups because they figure they can get as many people to come as their friend did. The couple of larger shows I've done haven't yielded such good results - although they were my first few shows as well - so I guess I can blame it on the inexperience. It definitely wouldn't hurt to follow up with a phone call - maybe they hadn't really thought about it for themselves since they were at a bridal shower. Good luck!

Definetly get on the phone!
I would express gratitude for coming, talk about what a great time it was and then ask them if they would like to have a show and let them know it will continue the brides benefits also!
Good for you for doing such a huge show sucessfully!
I have done one that had 40 women there, and it was just a cooking show!
It was awesome! The hardest part for me was trying to remeber their names!
I live in a small town and they see me all the time and I am like hi how ya doin'? and in my head I am thinking....oh , she washes her stones in the dishwasher or oh she liked the artichoke dip, or she asked me about fundraising. But names, nada!
Good luck to you!
P.s. it has been almost 6 months since that show and I have 2 shows this month from that show 1 next month and 1 recruit. So keep you voice happy and ask for permission to keep in touch!
:)

Yes, definately get on the phone; use the excuse that you didn't get to totally finish out the show--tell them you didn't get to tell them about the specials & see where that takes you!
BTW, I feel you pain about the hubby on the computer. Mine is on here all evening:rolleyes: THat's why I'm usually on here in the morning! Maybe our hubby's play the same game!

Lacy you stole what I was going to say!!! About the phone calls that is...

Beth: You are absolutely right! I asked everyone and they all said no, but when I looked at the slips later, there were a few yes's. Maybe everyone just trying to get out the door...

So I'm ready to close the show (just waiting for a guest to call me back with the expiration date for her card) $1,128 in sales!!!! If I could add the wedding resistry to the show it would have been a $1342 show!!!!

No bookings though!!

Fantastic sales. Never know when someone might decide a few months down to book a show.
