Can you transmit orders from Pampered Partner with a cable modem...in other words, could I get rid of my land phone line?
 
Yes! This is what I do. I don't recall specifically how to set it up, but it's in the help file somewhere. :) I think you need to select "Connect using the internet" on one of the preferences screens.
 
I connect using DSL. If you use a modem and then switch to broadband you need to:

Open PP
Select Personal Information - Personalize PamperedPartner
Click on Electronic Connection tab
Select/click Connect using the internet
Click Apply & then possibly click OK
