to my show this weekend. My host is so so. I called her last week. I was telling her to make sure to invite everyone she knows. Her reply was I do really well with parties. I told her the key with PC is number of people invited. I call her again last night to see if we know how many are coming. She told me she did not know that. I told her I needed to know so I knew how much stuff to bring and to make sure we had everything we needed. I have a feeling this is going to be a very small show.

I feel your pain, my show on Sat is the same way. We need to do the best that we can and pray for the best/cross your fingers. We can do it!!

Some of my smallest shows in attendance have been my biggest sales. But I know how you feel I always worry that I am going to be wasting my time away from my family for a little of nothing. Some people do not realize we take this job as serious as anyone else takes their job.

I had a show like this the other night. It was not too many people there and the sales were not as good as some shows but I got 4 bookings, so, in the end it will level out.

I'll take a show like that any day! Although it does an ego good to have the sales too!!:D :D
Of course, in a perfect world, we would all have people calling US to schedule show, high attendance and sales, right?;) ;)

oh, and people calling us to sign up too!!

I will take bookings any day of the week. I need them! LOL As long as it makes a show I will be happy.

Whenever I have a show that doesn't seem like its going to be a "good show", I always tell myself to use it as a training too. Good luck! Keep us posted!

My first show this month was with a dear friend of mine on a VERY limited budget. She invited tons of people (we did lots of host coaching) and had 6 DEFINITE attending. The day of the show came and show start time passes and not a single person was there. ONE SINGLE GUEST showed up 20 minutes late. No one else showed up or called. My host was utterly embarrassed and devestated (she took it really personally). Her single guest ended up booking a show for May as well as placing $180 order. We pushed the show close back a little bit and she ended up closing the show with just over $500 in guest sales.

Even a show that doesn't seem like it will be great can have some great potential! And if it doesn't, be as enthusiastic as possible and have fun -- you never know how you will affect someone there and can wind up with a booking or an order down the road, or even a recruit.

That's a great example Laura. Being that I'm a new consultant, I'm a bit discouraged that my first open house (last week) wasn't so great. I invited 30 people and only two showed up. Of the two, one ordered and she's thinking about doing a fundraiser for her son's school. The other guest bluntly told me that she is into William-Sonoma products and does not want to buy PC. Well why did you come then? Anyway, my friend purchased nearly $200 in products and she's getting the word out about my business. My first catalogue show is going so well and it's taking place all the way in Michigan (I'm in California). Hey, whatever works! Keep your chin up gang!!!

My host for this weekend is simular. We are doing the Aloha Pizza. So I told her we should do a luau theme. We discussed it and she got very excited. I picked up leis and grass skirts at my local $1 Store. And am picking up a tropical cd today. I told her when she does her follow up calls to invite everyone to wear a Hawaiin shirt for a contest too. Hopefully her excitement will carry over to her attendance!

Things are starting to look up. With the past host order and the order she has in her hand we have a show! I asked her again if she knew how many where coming and she has no clue. Then she told me for sure 10 people. I have no clue! LOL
