I just saw this on CNN, and I was flabbergasted! :eek:Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.comThat is just utterly ridiculous! :grumpy: The terms they're using to describe the photos? Who gets to decide that? And does that then mean I can't bathe my child because I'm going to see him naked?!Seriously!?!?!?!?!?!

Isn't it nice to know that the Thought Police are everywhere, protecting us from ourselves?

No kidding. I have so many nakey pics of my babies playing in the tub...
We have some of the cutest pics of the three little ones when they were 2,2, and 3.
This is waaaay over the top.

wow. I have bath time photos, and potty photos...

I have 1st time baths and ones with the kids crazy hair baths (alfala) at 2-3 years old.

Saw this on GMA and they interviewed the parents and showed a few of the actual photos with faces blurred. I got so upset when they quoted the police officer's comments I almost started bawling. Of COURSE I have adorable, bathtime (and potty!) photos of my kids. Those poor parents! Even worse, the poor, poor kids who didn't even do anything and were temporarily removed!!! They will have issues about that for a while, and maybe life. :(

99% of all parents have the first bath pics and the first potty pics.. so I guess we all are "guilty" per that report..

In a nearby town a few years ago, there were parents who took pics of their kids in the bath and they got their kids taken away from them for indecent exposure of a minor...
It's disgusting
Now I have pics of my dd in the tub from the waist up only...and those are minimal.

That is crazy...now the mom is out of a job...she works at a school. She is going to be labeled forever whether they win the law suit or not. I have pictures of my kids in the bath and on the toilet. With all of the real abuse cases out there you would think they wouldn't have time for this kind of stuff. That is just plain crazy!!

Hopefully they'll get a common-sense judge who has kids or grandkids and photos like these of his/her own!

I think bath and toilet pics are terrible, but not necessarily prosecutable as porn. They're terrible because they show someone at a moment that should be private but isn't simply because they're too young to give or deny consent to the photographer. Just because they are infants or toddlers doesn't mean that they aren't as deserving of privacy as an adult performing those same actions. You wouldn't take a picture of an adult taking a bath without getting their permission, would you? That aside, taking children away for this illustrates the knee-jerk reaction that many governmental agencies have. Had a social worker spoken to the family involved (and maybe they did, I didn't watch the video because I can't stand web videos), they could have given the family a warning after determining that no harm was meant.

I am absolutely disgusted. That poor family.

This is just more of government trying to control everyone and everything. I think we are going to see more and more of things like this. If this is the "change" we were promised I say "change it back."

This is another case of the Perpetually Offended doing their thing. There is a class of people out there that wake up every morning with the thought, "What can I find to offend me today so I can go off about it?"

I'm a retired Police Dispatcher and while I was growing up, my Grandmother was a Foster Parent with so many children coming & going from her home that she quit counting at 200 (the first 10 years). From my experience, there are horrible people out there who do horrible things to children. If these parents had been posing their children in provocative poses and/or selling naked photos online to perverts to use for sexual gratification, then by all means ... the police and/or state officials SHOULD intervene. Was it smart to take photos with a regular camera & then have them developed by a stranger. NO! But from what I saw on that video, they were just photos that the family took, not porn and there was no evidence that either parent intended to use the photos for illegal purposes.I do have to admit that all of my photos are done with a digital camera. If I happen to get something that I wouldn't want others to see, I simply crop it out! I've never taken naked photos of my children to a business to get developed. Who knows what kind of pervert might be developing that film???I do think that whoever called the cops jumped the gun on this case and needs to get a freaking life.

Beyond that, there were law enforcement officers who received the complaint and AGREED that these photos were indeed criminal. I'm surprised that none of the officers who were initially involved in this case said, "I have pictures like this of my kids. What's wrong with a bathtime pic?"

there was a lifetime movie about this exact sort of situation! An innocent event of children and adults dancing & having fun turned into a discusting event! This is crazy!
