Curious About CS Activity? 37 Logged In, 27 in the Lounge - Where Is Everybody?

In summary, according to the blurb out front, there are 37 people logged in to CS (there's also a lot of guests) but it also says there are 27 people hanging around the lounge. Where are all of you?

It sure has been quiet the last few days.

I for one am almost always logged on, but not always physically purusing...I do the "new thread" option several times a day (read...probably way too many) and go from there...

That's probably true of most of us, still, the numbers are way down, there are posts from the 5th that haven't been bumped yet, so hardly anyone is posting. No one posts on the update thread anymore and even the usual suspects haven't been posting much.Everyone is probably somewhere else. I never get the memo for some reason. :(

I'm wondering the same thing. It just feels like there are hardly any new posts for the past several weeks. And so many of the "usual suspects" have been very quiet, too.

With two kids, unfortunately I have less time these days to come here. Even now, I'm posting from my phone as they sleep in the car. Once they wake up, we'll continue with our day.

maybe they've defected to the new forum on CC...

Maybe everyone's glued to the TV to watch the news about Japan. I don't know about elsewhere, but it's Spring Break time in Central Texas, so a lot of people are traveling. For me Spring Break = Spring Housecleaning. Not fun, but the prospect of a couple of days at the beach is a big incentive! Just taking a break now to see if we had any new word from Sheila.

I'm still here! Just had to work this morning!

Come with me to the Dark Side, Luke.

I was thinking it has to do with it being spring. We are spending a lot more time outside these days. I usually have CS open on my computer, but am not physically here, and just click new posts a couple times a day. I agree though, it has been pretty slow lately.

  • #11
What is this spring of which you write? We haven't seen it yet in many parts of the US. Right now we're in flood season here. ;) I can't stand the format of the new board. I'm here and lurking! :) I add when I have something to add, and ask questions when I have questions... sometimes these things are cyclical. We just came off of a spike of activity (I assume) because of the new products, now everyone is getting a little more used to them.

  • #12
I was wondering the same thing. The posts have been kinda lax. I haven't been on the CC forum it looks to complicated.

I thought that,too!

I agree, it has been a little slow on here.

Yes, really, no spring here either!:(

I agree, not really a fan of the CC/PC Community format.

one night when CS was down or having trouble, I went to the CC Forum. Ugh. It was giving me a headache trying to read it.

I know sometimes I go in spurts with CS....sometimes you get in a funk mentally, or I get in those moods where I get so tired of reading complaints or negative stuff that I just have to walk away. Not saying that is what has been on here lately, but things get busy.

I know! Everyone is SO BUSY with shows! that's how I feel on Friday/Saturday when it's dead on here..that everyone must be out making money while I waste another weekend. ;).

  • #15
Perhaps they are all overwhelmed with leads to follow-up with, jammed packed with shows, furiously entering orders into P3, joyfully playing with the MFP and... dusting off the grills to practice for the summer season. :p

(At least, that's how I've decided to picture everybody in order to motivate my March and April bookings)

Ok. It's REALLY quiet tonight. Everyone is out finishing up some parties I guess. :D
But what's weird is that the stats say 23 members online and 133 guests. ??? Really? That many guests? wow. Someone telling those on the CC Forums about us now are they? ;)

  • #17
I have a valid reason! ;)

Yes, I've been super distracted by everything going on over here in Japan that I haven't opened very many other posts here on Chef Success other than the ones updating everyone on what's happening on this side of the world. I just don't have the time or energy to do much else right now. Trying to understand the Japanese news broadcasts are exhausting! :(

I'm concerned about Sheila who is on a Military installation. If she okay? Have we heard from her on any other thread? That was my reason for logging on tonight. She and all our military folks over in Japan, have been in my prayers, today.

Praise the Lord, I see that Sheila has posted. Thank God she must be okay to have internet service and we able to post. I can go to bed, and sleep, peacefully, now.

  • #19
Ok Sheila, we can give you a hall pass ;) And you definitely were out partying today/tonight -haha. Hope the birthday party went well and served as a fun way to get away from what's been going on there lately. And I like the idea of a bowling alley birthday party....hmmmmm.. My oldest turns 10 next month. That could be fun! (We do parties at the "big milestone" birthdays, vs every year - 1, 5, 10, and 15 will be the last. They aren't allowed to turn 16. ;) )

ありがとう シーラ

(Arigato, Sheila - at least, I think that's what it says.)

I lurk at the "other" forum and have noticed a few familliar names and faces over there, but half the time I just want to post "The answer to your question has already been asked and answered several times already over on Chef Success." I feel it would be in bad taste to actually keep plugging this site even though I like it better.

I actually contacted HO and told them they need to come and lurk here a bit to figure out how to build a user friendly forum. That one DIScourages file sharing and is just too hard to read with the white screens!

  • #22
Yes, I noticed it has been quite here lately, even before what happened in Japan. I usually dont' make lots of posts but love to come in here and look for ideas and learn from everyone else :D

Love this site...better than PCC :)

Well, don't just lurk - post something!

Even something as silly
and useless as this one!

Whew!

If it weren't for translators, I'd have no idea what to tell you. The limit of my Japanese vocabulary is Honda, Toyota, Sony, Datsun, Nissan, sake, bonzai and Godzilla.

I have been here too but keeping an eye on school work and Japan and Sheila! I will probably never use the CC forum. With my mouth and my sometimes brutal way of conveying things, they would be kicking me out anyway. I would say that I am so sure they watch it like a hawk, that 90% of what we can post out here, would never be acceptable on there. So I am strictly CS all the way! I do not even want to look at it. Besides, can you imagine some one posting that they changed a show date or fudged something and got fired after posting out there! YIKES!

I keep checking here every hour or so for updates from Sheila. Sheila, thank you for taking the time to keep us all updated. We certainly do appreciate it.

That made me laugh. You may be honest John, but I've certainly never known you to be brutal. :D:love:

Look out, Winston. HO lurkers must be the 151 "guests" that are logged in.

I haven't gone to the dark side. I checked it out once, hated it and ran screaming back here.i'm on loaner laptop, with no P3 and no access to files either. And in general, just feeling very discouraged about the business. And since Loaner Laptop doesn't automatically log me in, I'm often a lurker.

Hmmmm. 33 people viewing the lounge this morning. That means, 32 lurkers besides me.

I would have thought and assumed so, but you can't tell it by that #$*(#*%(@&#%( forum they put together for us. It stinks.

I'm one of those 30-somewhat lurkers - I rarely speak up but do enjoy reading everyones posts! Have looked around a bit on the PC forum, it isn't very user friendly from what I see.

That's what I was talking about! Here Gregg rarely has to administer the censorship button. some of the err, "discussions", we have had out here would certainly NEVER fly out there! And yes, I do believe in a way it was a way to make these other forums go away some how. Not sure why or if there is an alternate motive to it, but that is my feeling. Yes, I am paranoid of that site. I will admit it. I mean why do it since they know this is here and are there not others? So why?

  • #43
Two thoughts: (1) John- they did want to eliminate the non-PC stuff and control things more....they see we are all a bunch of rebels! So they hope to steer more consultants to their site...haha. :)(2) to ME, the "lurkers" are the "guests"...I have been so surprised by how many 'guest' numbers you see. I sometimes log in and just browse and don't comment. I mean really, does my opinion REALLY count on EVERYTHING?! hahaha. My DH would give a resounding "NO!" :D

Oh, so you missed me? I've been ill. The first week of March I had a fever of 103F. The second week my blood sugars went all wacky, probably from whatever virus I had. On Friday, March 11, I wound up in the emergency room with a nosebleed that wouldn't stop. They inserted a medical balloon to provide pressure. I was on strict rest for the entire weekend. Since then I've been playing catch-up and continuing to rest (as instructed). It's good to be back.

You just missed having someone who understood and appreciated your humor. LOL!

I checked out the PC forum once--it actually took me a long time to find it--and it is too confusing to navigate around. Our CS site is so user friendly, and even if HO monitors, which I'm sure they do, they will see that we are on here for the positive effect--look at all the encouragement, advice, etc. that is given out here--total honesty and freedom to discuss our businesses. Actually HO should be happy CS exists as I'm sure many consultants have remained consultants due to this forum. Hooray for CS!!
