I had to look....so far lower 80's but a chance of rain almost each day. Love the temp 'cause we are at 97 with a heat index of over 100 today. Packing a folding umbrella just in case.

Thank GOD!! I never thought I'd want to see 80's, but after what we've seen and will see today and tomorrow, I'd love it.

here is the most accurate forecast:http://www.wgntv.com/weather/7dayforecast/

and remember- the further out the forecast, the less likely you can trust the percentages, etc for it (per a weatherman who gave us a station tour one time). So just before you leave- recheck the forecast. He said usually about 3-4 days out, it's better nailed down. The 5-7 days are still flexible.Oh- and I'm in the suburbs of Chicago right now, and it's MUGGY! Only low 80s today, but yuck outside. A rain storm just moved through that has helped.

ANYTHING will feel better than what the Northeast has right now. We're at the 100 mark with the heat index and enough humidity to choke a horse! Bring on 80s!

I agree! We live in Raleigh and it's currently 100, going to 102 today I think. My DH keeps telling me each day how hot it is. Let's just say, I'm glad to NOT be there right now! We had enough of that in June!!

I hope the breeze of the lake is nice too. :)

It's funny to hear you guys complain about the hot weather..... guess it's kinda like when us Texans complain about the frigid winters we get (one or two days below freezing).

I understand what you mean, I'm in SW Florida.
But I know that y'alls weather is really bad because it's hotter there than at my house. And I've heard that many cars and some buildings don't even have a/c there.
Stay cool the best way you can and enjoy the break in the heat in Chicago next week.

Don't worry, we complain about the winters too! :) Only the theory of only having a few days below freezing is non existant. We complain not only how frigid it gets but then how much we spend in heating fuel. But you are right in that how we handle extreme heat, is like the south getting a dusting of snow.

It's in the 90s and humid here. Next Monday and Tuesday, high 80s are forecasted and it's just going to get warmer from there. I wouldn't count on it being cool here!

Adding suntan lotion and a hat to the suitcase sounds like a must.

I was cracking up at the news on Tuesday night...apparently the road (Lake Shore Dr) near McCormick place buckled because of the "Extreme Heat" - it was 90. HAHAHAHA. That just fractured me. As if they don't get 90's here???

Oh man...I was looking forward to a break from Mother Natures Hell-ish temps. I guess I better book myself for indoor activities. Better cool down for Tuesday night as we're doing a segway tour and I'd rather enjoy it than melt to the Segway. (Ok I'll stop whining) :)

You all know it ain't the heat but the humidity in the mid-west that gets ya!! All you curly haired ladies are going to have some really bad hair days! With rain in the forecasts on almost all 4 days, the humidity is going to be an issue. Be advised that just walking a block in that can be a disaster even with antiperspirant!

Yeah, I anticipate less walking to places and more cab rides this year.

Hee Hee....that's exactly what I was thinking.

It was also my main reason for taking the Amtrak instead of the commuter train. A bit more money (not as much as I anticipated though) but a MUCH more comfortable ride, and it will take me right to a taxi then onto the McCormick Hyatt! From there, it will be mostly shuttle buses and taxis!

I am a true New Englander, so I complain about the weather no matter what it is! :p

Some mild (or more mild) temperatures would be fabulous!

honey, we know about humidity here in SW FL and I am one of those curly-haired women. At least it's long and I can put a little gel in it and pull it back.

and mid 80's, even 88, is cooler for me. at least that's what next week's forecast says.

DITTO! :) And this natural curly haired-girl who wants her hair to be straight will be fighting evil demons with the humidity. :(

Except this past winter Leslie..........this was the second coldest winter on record here, and it was freeeezing for most of it!! I think we even skipped spring and moved right on to summer. But, I know what you mean ;)
