Can someone tell me how they sell a Brunch Show? I have tried with no luck!!

Hmmm...I'm not sure what I do to get them booked, but Sat. Brunch shows are my most popular, and usually my most lucrative shows. I often say to my husband that I wish I could 2-3 Saturday brunch shows each week - LOL!

At shows, when I tell everyone my schedule - I tell them pretty much upfront that I do shows on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and also I do Saturday Brunch Shows - but if they want a brunch show they better book ASAP, because they are the first shows to book for each month. I then describe how people LOVE them, because they are more relaxed, and no one has to rush home after a long day to finish chores, or get kids to bed, or pack lunches....and I also tell them that I have some incredibly delicious recipes that I only do at Brunch shows! :)

Right now, I have two Brunch dates open in June, and then I'm done for the season. I only do Brunch shows Sept - the 2nd week in June, because we live near Lake MI, and weekends are a bust in the Summer because everyone is camping/boating/swimming/at their cottage, etc...(during the Summer, I switch my schedule to Tues, Wed, Thurs.)

Just talk about how you offer it and maybe give them some recipe ideas. Most of the people who pick brunches like that they have the rest of their day free. Guest can come to the show and still have a full day of whatever it is they want/need to get done that day.

I heard an idea recently regarding when the best time to make calls was. The lady said that you should try calling at the times you want to do shows! So if you want to do Brunch shows on Saturday, try calling people at those times. If they are home, chances are that is a decent time a show might work for them!Thought it was a good tip, maybe would help you here.
Otherwise, like was mentioned earlier, tell people your schedule- if you do shows on certain days, be sure to include that as an option. Or include it somewhere in your bookings talk.

Great description - thanks for sharing! I'm finding my Friday and Saturday nights are filling up and that isn't quite fair to my family. I will try your approach :)

Thank you. Will work on saying something like that. I would love to have shows only one weekend a month, on top of the ones I do during the week. This way I can knock off 3 or 4 shows in one weekend. Then have the rest of the weekends to do things with my family. When you do brunches on the weekend, 1, Do you do any more shows that day?2. If you do, what times do you pick to do each show that day"

When you do brunches on the weekend,

1, Do you do any more shows that day?

2. If you do, what times do you pick to do each show that day"

If you find the secret, do tell!!! I can see me working weekends for the rest of my life UGH!

I do two shows just about every Saturday. I do noon and 6:30, depending upon how far the host is from my house. If she's 30 minutes away, I make her show 11:30 (if she wants the noon slot) and 6:45 (if she wants the evening slot). My noon slot is my most popular, and I have had some people want to start even earlier (I don't do any earlier than 10-I wouldn't have enough time to get my m-i-l set and situated for the day.)

Aside from my noon Saturdays, my show nights are Thurs, Fri, and Sat. But, if I book a Friday night, I won't book a Saturday night. And, if I book a Thursday night, I won't book a Friday night. That way my hubby and I have one of the weekend nights to "party".

I will say, the Saturdays I only have my noon show are awesome. And the ones that are earlier are great too! I get home and we still have much of the afternoon and all evening together. Of course, when I have two on Saturday, my husband deals with it better because I'm only "gone" one day a week versus two.

I am selfish about my weekends so I do the old trick of writing something in on my calendar before I show it to people. I leave one weekend open where I will do 1 Friday nite, up to 3 on Saturday (11, 2 and 7 depending on travel time between) and then Sunday afternoon. I normally am successful of getting them to book then just because I tell them that is all I have. I take weekends off in June, July and August unless I know the person REALLY well......

Oh yes - I forgot to mention that I will do a weekend show during the Summer, but only for Bridal Showers. I know that people will show up for those - it's a given.

One more question, What do you cook at your brunch shows?

I was also curious about the recipe/show outline for the brunch shows. And is noon the most common time for brunch shows?
