I just replaced the blades on my APCS ... the good news is it works now intead of mangling the apples!

Now for the bad news ... it takes off half the apple when it peels it! I don't remember it doing that before but it was out of commission last year so who knows ... is there a way to adjust the peeling blade so it doesn't peel so ... enthusiastically?

you need to back up the peeling blade a bit. Just loosen the wing nut and move it back. That should solve the problem.

I can't get my rod off the APCS. Anyone know how to do that?

You need to unscrew the prongs off the end. Use the little wrench that came with it, and it should come right off, then the rod will slide off

I had trouble getting the peeling the right thickness, but my DH stepped in and adjusted it and now I love it! One of my customers says she uses hers to make curly fries. I tried making curly fries and baking them instead of deep frying. I spritzed them with olive oil and them seasoned them with our awesome Smoky BBQ seasoning and salt. They tasted like a cross between a french fry and a potato chip. Pretty good!

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes the Pampered Chef peeler to create thick peelings?

The Pampered Chef peeler may create thick peelings if it is not being used at the correct angle or if too much pressure is applied while peeling. Ensuring a gentle, consistent motion can help achieve thinner peelings.

How can I achieve thinner peelings with my Pampered Chef peeler?

To achieve thinner peelings, try adjusting the angle at which you hold the peeler. A slight tilt can help you get closer to the fruit or vegetable's surface. Additionally, practice using lighter pressure to allow the blade to glide smoothly.

Is there a specific technique for peeling different types of fruits and vegetables?

Yes, different fruits and vegetables may require different techniques. For example, when peeling potatoes, use a downward motion, while for apples, a circular motion around the fruit may yield better results. Experimenting with various techniques can help you find what works best for each type.

Can I sharpen my Pampered Chef peeler if it’s not cutting well?

Pampered Chef peelers are designed to be durable and typically do not require sharpening. If you find that it is not cutting well, ensure it is clean and free of debris. If problems persist, consider replacing it, as the blade may have dulled over time.

What should I do if my Pampered Chef peeler is still producing thick peelings after adjusting my technique?

If you have adjusted your technique and are still getting thick peelings, it may be worth checking if the peeler is damaged or if the blade is worn out. If necessary, contact Pampered Chef customer service for assistance or to inquire about a replacement.
