Any One Also a Girl Scout Leader?

I'm pretty comitted to being a Brownie leader for my daughter next year. We have been doing Daisies this year and it was really booring (leader had too much other stuff going on and no guidance). I really want to do this with my daughter and have it be fun and positive. Any Advice from veterans?

I've been a leader in my DD's troop for 4 years. The best advice I can give you is be patient...and let the girls have a gand in the decision making. I know it's hard when they are Brownies, some of their ideas are totally unrealistic. (Only cause they are young). Ask parents for help...don't try to do it all yourself! If you have any struggles, please ask for help. It's easy to get the burned-out feeling.

This year was my first year as a brownie leader. There are 4 of us for my dd's troop; which is nice since there's 15 girls. It's funny because none of us were even in girl scouts as kids, but we all have different ideas which helps. One leader searched the web to find all the try-it badges, and we just all picked a couple out & thought of ideas for them. Our girls really enjoyed the activities. They especially liked going on field trips and having guest speakers come talk. (we did use recipes from the Let's Eat cookbook for the cooking badge ) Just have fun & the kids will too!
