I still only have 3 pairs of jeans & 8 logo shirts that I brought in the 1 suitcase from Japan! So Mother-in-law is watching the toddlers today so I can go shopping for some summer attire to get me through my stay here in Texas.

Big question: What is the attire for the dinner in Toronto? Semi-formal? Business Casual??? I need to buy something today for that too! Any assistance is appreciated! :D

The only jacket I have in Texas is my PC logo fleece jacket. Guess I'll bring that! I'm certainly not buying something new to take. LOL

Frequently Asked Questions

What is considered semi-formal attire for a summer dinner in Toronto?

Semi-formal attire typically includes dressy dresses for women, such as cocktail dresses or elegant sundresses, and dress pants or suits for men. In the summer, lighter fabrics and colors are preferred to keep cool, but the overall look should still be polished and sophisticated.

Can I wear business casual attire to a semi-formal dinner?

While business casual attire is generally more relaxed, it may not be appropriate for a semi-formal dinner. However, if the event is less strict, you might opt for dressy trousers and a nice blouse or a tailored blazer. Always consider the venue and the host's expectations.

What types of shoes are appropriate for a summer dinner in Toronto?

For a semi-formal dinner, women can choose elegant sandals or closed-toe heels, while men should wear dress shoes. In summer, breathable materials are ideal, but ensure the shoes complement your outfit and maintain a polished look.

Are there any color restrictions for summer dinner attire?

There are generally no strict color restrictions for summer dinner attire. Light and bright colors are often favored in summer, but it's best to avoid overly casual prints or colors that might be too bold for a semi-formal setting. Neutral tones and pastels are safe choices.

How can I accessorize my outfit for a summer dinner?

Accessorizing for a summer dinner can enhance your outfit. Women can opt for statement jewelry, a stylish clutch, or a light shawl. Men can add a nice watch or a pocket square. Just remember to keep accessories elegant and not overly flashy to maintain the semi-formal vibe.
