Planned my first Open House for yesterday. I had all my "T"s crossed and "I"s dotted. The only thing I could not control was the weather. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! Sunny and 84 degrees on a Sunday in mid September. What a disaster. But I am confident that my next one will be better. In retrospect, March would probably be better because everyone wants to get out of the house after the long winter. I don't give up easily!!!:p

Yes, don't give up! I've found that if you regularly have open houses & people are planning on them; that's when they'll come:) (&bring friends!)

I can sympathize! I had a show yesterday afternoon & half the people cancelled because of the weather! You can never plan in September!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if the weather forecast predicts rain on the day of my open house?

If rain is forecasted, consider moving your open house indoors if possible. Ensure that your space is inviting and well-prepared for guests. You can also promote the event as a cozy indoor gathering, highlighting any special offers or activities that will take place regardless of the weather.

How can I attract guests to my open house during inclement weather?

What activities can I include in my open house to keep guests engaged despite the weather?

Plan interactive activities that can be done indoors, such as cooking demonstrations, product tastings, or hands-on workshops. These engaging experiences can make your open house memorable and encourage guests to stay longer, regardless of the weather outside.

How can I prepare my space for an open house if the weather is unpredictable?

To prepare for unpredictable weather, ensure your venue has adequate indoor space and is well-stocked with supplies. Set up a welcoming area with refreshments and comfortable seating. Additionally, have a backup plan in place, such as a tent or alternative location, in case the weather turns unfavorable.
