Will be leaving for a party in a few hours. Host has requested making the Triple-Citrus Mojitoes. In the step where you have to pour the mint mixture through the Strainer does any one know if they are talking about the skimmer? I have seen mojitos made with chopped up mint leaves that were not strained (home New Year's party) and the drink looked like bong water...sorry...I had a long ago college flashback:eek: :blushing:

I think they are talking about the Strainer it self - item 2606 not the skimmer - I think the strainers holes are alittle larger so the mint will go in - just not as much as the bong water - I imagine you can use the skimmer if you don't have the drainer - hope that helps!!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a strainer and a skimmer when making Triple Citrus Mojitoes?

A strainer is designed to separate liquid from solid ingredients, ensuring a smooth drink by filtering out herbs, fruit pulp, or ice. A skimmer, on the other hand, is used to remove floating debris or foam from the surface of liquids. For Triple Citrus Mojitoes, a strainer is typically more useful to achieve a clean and refreshing cocktail.

Which tool is recommended for straining the mojito mixture?

For making Triple Citrus Mojitoes, a fine mesh strainer is recommended. It effectively filters out any solid ingredients like mint leaves and citrus pulp, giving you a smooth and enjoyable drink.

Can I use a skimmer instead of a strainer for my mojito?

While a skimmer can be used to remove any floating debris, it is not ideal for straining the mojito mixture. Using a skimmer may leave behind unwanted solid ingredients in your drink, affecting the overall texture and flavor.

Do I need both a strainer and a skimmer for making mojitoes?

While you can make Triple Citrus Mojitoes with just a strainer, having both tools can enhance your cocktail-making experience. Use the strainer to ensure a smooth drink and the skimmer to remove any excess foam or floating bits that may occur during mixing.

What should I do if I don't have a strainer or skimmer?

If you don't have a strainer or skimmer, you can improvise by using a clean cloth or coffee filter to strain the mixture. Pour the mojito through the cloth into your glass to catch any solid ingredients. However, this method may take longer and require more effort.
