My DH thinks we should set up an LLC for my business, to protect us from liability issues, and to make 'taxes easier'. I'm not sure I think it is necessary. Although it was encouraging- he said he doesn't want the income to push us to a higher tax bracket or mess up his W4 deductions (he calculated it all out). So he must have some level of confidence I will make money at it eventually *hehe*.

But I was wondering if anyone else has done that or CAN you do that with PC? I know they take out a liability insurance fee from the commission, but would that be enough in the event I accidentally burnt someone's house down or something? Since I am an "Independent Consultant" and they keep reminding me I don't work FOR them. :) Would their insurance cover me in a serious situation?

Just wondering?

I would call the legal department at HO...we have liability insurance we already pay for...why double our work/efforts.Legal can help answer your questions on this....and on the accidents during shows, yes you are covered. There should be information on the insurance on CC.

I operated another business as an LLC for several years.

I don't see any need to do that with PC - and taxes couldn't be any easier. I do them myself w/ TurboTax. Just keep good records.

There is no need for the LLC--it will just add more time and expense for you.
