Does anyone do this?

I do. I use birthdayalarm.com. People sign up there. The site sends me a first alarm one week before the birthday, then a second alarm the day before the birthday. I offer 10% off for one month from their birthday, but it's their responsibility to remind me about their discount. Here's my wording:Happy Birthday!May your day be filled with joy, peace, and the love of good friends. In honor of your birthday, I’m going to give you 10% off anything you purchase for the next month. Just remind me of the date of your birthday when you order. And, yes, that’s on top of any other discounts you may be receiving.May all your birthday wishes come true!
I personalize it by adding their name in the salutation.

thanks rae

I had the idea a month or so ago to create a birthday postcard with Vista, but I keep forgetting to get people to put their birthdays on their door prize slips. I think after my supply of the Home office ones are done, I might start making my own drawing slips and put it on there. I think I am going to have to send an email to ask people for their birthdays (might steal your idea Rae). My postcard says that they get 10% off their next order or $10 additional product at their next show when they call to book.

My DD gives her customers 20% off for their birthday month. She sells Close to my Heart scrapbooking, stamping, and cardmaking supplies. She usually gets really good orders ($50 or more) from the birthday person!
