Could everyone please keep my sister in your prayers? In the past couple of months, she has started having seizures, and the doctors are still trying to figure out why. She had two just last week! Usually they last less than a minute and then she's conscious again, but she was unresponsive after the last one and they had to take her to the hospital. So far, all of the CAT scans and EEG's have come back fine. While she was in the hospital, my aunt (who's an EMT) was watching her heart monitor and noticed spells of Trigemini (I think that's the word). The way she explained it to us, is that when this happens, my sister's heart rate drops to the low 40's and she thinks this may be causing her seizures because of the lack of blood going to her brain. Of course, she's not a doctor, but she thinks they should be looking more closely at her heart than her head.... especially since both sides of our family have lots of heart problems! Anyway (sorry this is so long!), my aunt went w/ my sister to her doctor appt yesterday and he's ordered an echocardiogram and heart monitor. The bad thing is that she's a single mom who works full time, but she has no health insurance! So now she's going to have to pay for all of her tests, and she can't really afford to take any time off from work. I'm praying that they will find out what's going on soon!
