In the process of shopping for a budgeting software product, I discovered Quicken Online. It's free and provides many of the functions of basic budgeting software:
While it does pull and display info from your accounts, you can't use Quicken Online to perform transactions or write checks. IMO it's a great tool for tracking and seeing the big picture.
My goal is to get back to covering my regular monthly expenses with my full time job, and using Pampered Chef for extra-ordinary expenses and savings. I think that this can help me with that, and without having to buy software.
Just thought I'd share....
- Downloads online checking, savings, and credit cards
- Sorts transactions into categories
- Gives you the flexibility to create new categories
- Gives you the flexibility to set budget goals for categories
- Allows you to edit transactions by category and add notes
- Tracks month by month in list and pie chart
