I Need Some Prayers This Morning!

In summary, Kelly's first pregnancy was very hard and she is worried this time around will be just as bad.

Last night was horrible. It was soooooooooooooooo hot in our house, and I never thought to turn on the a/c. I just kept thinking that it was gonna cool off outside soon, and most of the windows were open. Neither DH or I could sleep too well. But- what woke me up FIRST was Braxton Hicks contractions I think! Oh...and "morning" sickness at 1AM. Anyhow the whole left side of my belly seemed to be getting BH contractions. I kept getting up and getting drinks of water, TUMS, and just brought a big "just in case" bowl to bed with me. I think I may have gotten two hours of sleep. Unbelieveably, I still feel sick this morning! I haven't thrown up (didn't last night, either) but I have gagged and thought it was gonna happen a few times. <sigh> I don't know what to do...my appt with my new counselor is this morning at 10, then I need to take Evan to preschool by 12:15 and then go pick him up by 3:15 to take HIM to the drs. (His appt is with his specialist that is keeping an eye on him for his speech delay and autistic traits...) Both of the dr appts I really don't want to cancel, cuz it literally takes MONTHS to get back in. I am sipping on some tea and eating a few saltines right now hoping to feel better so I can jump in the shower quickly. Can you keep me in your prayers this morning that I can feel better quickly and get all of this day done? I hope that this crazy "can pop up anytime during 24 hours" sickness means that this time it's a girl!! This time it's sooooooooooo different than with Evan!

Thanks all!
:)

Oh Kelly, I will be praying for you today!

When I was having my all-times-of-the-day-sickness, Tums never helped. The only thing that worked well was Pepcid. (which was what my Dr. told me to take.)

You are in my prayers today, Kelly!

Be sure you make time to rest too!

Kelly, it sounds like you were getting a little dehydrated. You'll be in my prayers today!

Kelly,

You'll be in my prayers. Feel better soon and try to take it easy!

Saying a prayer for you Kelly!!

Kelly;

I can sympathize, my first was a girl and I was sick as a dog with her. I then had 2 boys and didn't get sick with either one.

Also tums didn't work for me either, but believe it or not Mentos (R) gum did!

The Dr. told me it was the peppermint in the gum that helped calm my stomach down.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Eileen

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers today, Kelly! I hope you start feeling better soon. (I have also heard that dehydrated ginger slices helps with the nausea too)

Oh Kelly... I pray you are given the strength and stamina to accomplish all that is needed today. You've got a full plate but God will get you through!

I will keep you in my prayers Kelly. I agree with the idea that it sounds like you are a little dehydrated...and speaking from experience, you CANNOT let that happen. I won't go into specifics so that I don't scare the bejebers out of you, but rest and drink Gatorade(R).

I was yucky, never threw-up but wanted to sick with my daughter, never had a moments problem with my son! Somehow, 12 years later, that has all changed!

Said a prayer for you Kelly. Check in later and let us know how you feel.

  • #12
Prayers here as well...please keep us posted.

  • #13
saying a prayer for ya :)
Try and get some rest.
I was sick as a dog 2 out of my 3 pregnancies, had 2 boys and 1 girl.

Boy do I feel for you! I was sick the entire time with my son, and in the ER and hosp for dehydration. Not fun. I am 10 weeks now and doing better than last time, but still sick. The Dr can give you medicine for the MS. I had to take then last time and they do help. Hang in there, it won't last forever... eventhough it feels that way right now.

Hugs Kelly - just saw this! You may not be on here with that busy day, but know that I'll be praying for calm, plenty of time for everything and that you feel good.Oh, and I'll be glad to send our 30 degree weather to you!!!! We had frost again last night - really hurts the new plants!!!!Anyway, like everyone said, keep hydrated and you need to stop worrying about all the appointments and everything and relax a bit...All will come together in due time - you can only fit so much in a day and worrying doesn't help it get done fast - trust me! I know!

Hi all! I have just one minute to write to say THANK YOU for the prayers, and keep 'em coming!! I am actually going to go lay down right now so I can rest before I have to pick up Evan from school and head off to Akron Children's Hospital for his appointment. I still don't feel good...but the queasiness has backed off a bit. Nothing sounds good to eat, but I am eating small plain things to keep something in my stomach.

I will check back in later on this evening, hopefully. I means soooooooooo much that all of you are helping to pray me through today!

Love you all!

drink, drink, drink.....peppermint tea helps with nausea!

get a good rest and feel better soon.

  • #18
Yes, I used to rub peppermint on my wrists and that would help...

  • #19
Kelly I hope you are feeling better. I was so sick w/my second, which was my second daughter, so they are all different even if they are the same sex. I never would vomit, but I would feel sick to my stomach all the time. I actually gained so much weight because I would think, "If I eat this maybe I'll feel better." Didn't work! I can tell you she was born with a full, I mean full, head of black curly hair! She was also 10 lbs. (I think it had something to do w//the eating because I was not diabetic)!! She is now my little tiny child - almost 16 and weighs 110 lb. size 2 Jr.

I'm praying for you.

I had these great wrist bands that I used for sea sickness pre-pregnancy and they came in handy when preggers with DD. The MS wouldn't hit until after 8 am, so wating somthing like crackers when I first got up wouldn't help. I couldn't stay vertical without those bands! Got them at AAA precruise!

  • #21
Feel better soon. I hope the appointment goes well. I will send you some of our cool weather from here in SD too, as it is in the 40's today!

  • #22
Hope you feel better and all dr. appointments go well for you!

  • #23
Just checking in. Hope you're feeling better.

  • #24
Hey Kelly - check in tonight - how did the day end? (or almost end)

  • #25
Checking in also....

  • #26
Kelly,

Hope you are doing well :)

Sorry I didn't check in last night. I was STILL SICK all day and all night and still this morning. It's a bit better this morning, but it's still there. I think I feel a little better cuz I finally threw up around 4AM. But, I am still having BH contractions on my left side and I just don't feel "right." I called the dr and I am going in there at 12:45 today. As long as I feel up to it, I will try to keep you all updated! I just felt so crappy yesterday, and Evan and I didn't get home till almost 7:00PM. I just laid down on the couch to rest till bedtime...

Glad you are going to the Dr.!

I'll be praying that you are feeling better today.

SEA BANDS!!! I used them, too, when prego with my DD. I was still constantly nauseated, but at least they helped somewhat with the throwing up. Also, when preggers with my twins, I read in a book my Dr gave me that eating chips can help with "morning" sickness. It worked well for me.

So that's my best advice -- sea bands & salty chips. (Something about the salt & the fat that helps. I didn't question it, I just went with it & it worked well.)

Mmmmm....chips. Well, if I *must* try them...;)

Here's my update!

Drs appt went well. Heard the heartbeat (yea!), and she wants me to go on Pepcid AC to see if that helps. I actually felt hungry around 11, so I ate some Ramen noodles before we went. They stayed down, and I am only feeling slightly nauseous. She did not seem to be concerned about the BH, but this morning I was getting a pain in my right side up under my ribcage, and she said for me to call them back if that starts radiating towards my back. Or to call if I don't feel better by Friday AM, or if I start running a fever. They took a urine sample, but she said it takes 2+ days to get it, so they may not hear anything till Monday...

All in all, I am hoping I am past whatever the heck it was....I just want to stop feeling like I need to carry a bowl around with me! lol

Plus, tomorrow we are headed off to the zoo, and I want to enjoy it! There's supposed to be really nice weather all day! Yippee!!

Ok...sorry, but I have to get right back off the computer. Seems like I have been gone all day again, and I have some things to get done so I can go to the zoo tomorrow, and so my girlfriend doesn't run screaming out of my house in the morning cuz it is such a mess!! lol I feel like I have been jumping on CS for two seconds a day just to post about *me* and then ignoring everyone else...that's not what I am trying to do! Thanks again, for all the prayers and well wishes!

Glad to hear the appts. went well...sounds like they are checking your appendix or other things for infection. I had a friend who had gallbladder problems all during pregnancy and was miserable and had to have it removed. Not fun, but all good today.Sea salt pita chips are a good snack too but not as cheap. :)

  • #32
Kelly, glad things are better! We miss you, have fun at the zoo, feel better, eat your chips, drink gingerale and come back when you can! :)
I'm still praying for you.

I think when you are gone, I get a bad case of the crankies! :(

  • #33
Glad you are feeling better.

  • #34
So happy you're feeling better! Have fun tomorrow.

  • #35
Kelly... is that John Ball Park Zoo? I LOVED going there as a kid. Hmmmm, I bet it's changed just a bit! :) SO thankful you are feeling a bit better.

  • #36
Here I am late as usual, but praying and wishing you well, Mama. Sounds like you have a wonderful doctor.

My newest consultant just found out she is pregnant for her first baby and is having a hard time being around food so she is not off to a great start. Those little babies are so darn cute, but they do make us sicker than dogs.

Rest when you can. (don't worry too much about the house!)

Kelly, Kelly, Kelly...if she starts to run, hand her a broom to sweep the floor on her way out! Seriously, I think if people are coming over to a pregnant womans home, especially one with another child, they should be expected to pitch in and clean up OR say absolutely nothing about the mess!!!
AND, if this is baby #2 (I think it is for you), just wait! the mess gets exponentially larger when that 2nd one shows up!

  • #39
Kelly, did you enjoy the trip to the zoo? Akron or Cleveland?

I hope you're feeling better!

And I agree ... your friend should know what is going on with you and I'm sure she is more than willing to help!

Hugs to you ... how much longer do you have to go? I miss your little timeline!

Prayers going your way!

gallbladder problems :)

Kelly, sounds like your have gallbladder attacks! Very common I understand during 2nd pregnancies. Mine caused false labor all 9months, and I was sick with 24/7 from the day she was conceived. I lost 18pounds my first trimester and carried a bucket with me whereever I went... seriously. Ask your doctor.

Pears are really good to settle your stomic, as is warm Dr Pepper.

Good luck,

Carol

I will keep that in mind. Actually, my dr specifically mentioned my gall bladder...especially if I start to get pain around my side and into my back on the right side.

I wanted to give all of you another update.

I am feeling sooooooooooo much better!

It was the Akron Zoo that we visited.

I did not get my house cleaned to where I wanted it, and my friend didn't care in the least! I knew she wouldn't care...I just still like to clean up for company (plus it gets me off my procrastinating butt and makes me do it!! lol)

The weather was PERFECT, we had a blast, and I was NOT sick ALL DAY!!
Yipee!! I ate a lot today...was hungry about every hour, so I think my body wants to make up for those few days of not eating much...

I think I am about ready for bed, though...cuz I feel wiped out, but I will take that over puking anytime! lol

Thanks again...you guys are THE BEST! This is such a supportive group of caring PC people!! I love it!

Here's my ticker...I don't always remember to "copy and paste" and put it in...and I don't think there is a way to put it in my siggy. If there *is* a way, let me know!!

Get some rest- you have a bun in your oven. When my aunt was pregnant I called her Auntie Peapod (because she had a pea in her pod so to speak) So I will call you Kelly peapod! :)

  • #44
Glad to hear you're feeling better. I'll continue to keep you in prayer. After all, that's not just a bun you have in the oven. :)

  • #45
Kelly, just incase watch what you eat. If it is gallbladder, fried foods will set it off.

Glad to know your better, hope it was just a bug or something.

LOVE your baby chart!!!

Carol

I am SO late in stumbling upon this thread but I am glad you're feeling better!

  • #47
Kelly-I am praying for you. Maybe your all day sickness is only temporarily. I was sick with my ds all the way up until he popped out. LOL Just know that that beautiful baby is growing every day and this too shall pass. On a high note, I lost 25 lbs before I started gaining and then only gained 20 so I actually walked out of the hospital skinnier than before. :) Just be sure to eat before you get sick and eat after you get sick and drink, drink, drink. Best of Luck and prayers coming your way!

Hi Kelly, I haven't had much time to post lately, but I just wanted you to know I am thinking of you, and am glad you are feeling better!! Take care of yourself!

  • #49
I too just stumbled onto post. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
I was sick with 2 of the 4 boys and Cola syrup over ice worked wonders.
When my ulcer acts up and makes me sick, my dr. recommends peppermint, any way you can get it and it actually does help.

  • #50
Kelly... hope things are better today! When I still had my gallbladder, salads, cabbage and virtually all green veggies sent me into a major attack. Also apples. My sister had her attacks from the more fatty foods. Maybe keep a food diary just to see if it's fatty things or something else.
