Okay, my 22 month old little girl hasn't been doing too good at the dinner table lately. She won't eat meat, well...do chicken nuggets count? Real normal chicken she spits out. Hamburger meat in spaghetti sauce, forget it. Meatloaf, pork, steak, etc, she won't eat it.

Well, I made the Moroccan chicken skillet whatever it's called recipe from Week 2 of the Dinner-Done! recipes. It was getting late when I made it and I figured there'd be no way my kids would eat it, so I made them something else real quick. Now here I am eating leftovers for lunch. My baby found me in the office, jumped on my lap and is now wolfing it down. She won't let me have my fork back. :D

Just thought it was so funny. Guess I'll have to cook this again just for her! :)

I cook special stuff for my kids, too. Toddlers are fussy. They seem to prefer finder foods.

My 15 month old loved this recipe too. I think the cooking method made the chicken really moist.

However, my picky 3 1/2 year old wouldn't touch it. I keep telling myself, someday he will eat, and I won't be able to cook fast enough for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some fun ways to present chicken to toddlers?

Making chicken visually appealing can encourage toddlers to try it. Consider cutting the chicken into fun shapes using cookie cutters or arranging it on the plate to create a smiley face or an animal. Adding colorful vegetables on the side can also enhance the presentation.

How can I make chicken more flavorful for toddlers?

Marinating chicken in mild flavors like yogurt or using kid-friendly seasonings such as garlic powder, paprika, or a sprinkle of cheese can make it more appealing. You can also try breading the chicken with crushed cereal or breadcrumbs for added texture and taste.

What are some easy chicken recipes that toddlers might enjoy?

Simple recipes like chicken nuggets, chicken quesadillas, or shredded chicken tacos can be great options. You can also try making a chicken stir-fry with colorful veggies or a chicken and rice casserole that combines familiar flavors in a comforting dish.

How can I involve my toddler in the cooking process?

Involving toddlers in cooking can make them more interested in the food. Let them help with simple tasks like washing vegetables, mixing ingredients, or arranging the chicken on a baking sheet. This hands-on experience can create excitement around mealtime.

What should I do if my toddler refuses to eat chicken?

If your toddler refuses chicken, don’t force it. Instead, try offering it in different forms or recipes. You can also serve it alongside their favorite dipping sauces or pair it with foods they already enjoy. Keep offering chicken regularly without pressure, as it may take multiple exposures for them to accept it.
