I know I've raved about the cookie press but tonight I tried it for ricing potatoes. Wasn't really sure what to expect. It worked fabulous. I don't suggest it for large quantities as just the few servings I had didn't fit in the whole tube. But it was really easy to use and made really nice soft potatoes!

Good to hear! DH hates lumpy potatoes and he likes them WAY too "soupy" for me...so just doing a small amount won't be a problem for us.

Can I use any type of cookie press for ricing potatoes?

What are the benefits of using a cookie press to rice potatoes?

Using a cookie press to rice potatoes is a quick and efficient method that produces a consistent texture. It can save time compared to traditional ricing methods and can also be a fun way to involve kids in the kitchen.

Are there any tips for achieving the best results when ricing potatoes with a cookie press?

To achieve the best results, ensure the potatoes are fully cooked and slightly cooled before pressing. Use starchy potatoes like Russets for a fluffier texture, and avoid overloading the press to prevent clogging.

Can I add ingredients to the potatoes before ricing them with a cookie press?

Yes, you can add ingredients like butter, cream, or seasonings to the potatoes before ricing. Just make sure the mixture is not too wet, as excess moisture can affect the ricing process and texture.
